Responsibilities

- The site surveys, installation and post installation testing of the signalling equipment in rooms and trackside including interconnecting cables
- Interface with the Civil Contractor to ensure the civil and Building Service provisions supplied are as per design and requirements
- The inspections of rooms and cable containment prior to acceptance and confirm room acceptance requirements. Provide written inspection reports.
- Supervise the Installation Sub Contractor and provide technical and logistical support during the installation works
- Generate Installation Method statements Site Survey reports for the works
- Working closely with the design team to ensure the delivery of all necessary materials, cables and equipment and drawings required to carry out the works are available as required
- Administers assigned subcontracts to ensure contract remains up to date in areas such as drawings, specifications, cost and schedule
- Coordinates with the Field Construction Manager on activities affecting the contract administration operation
- Coordinates with engineering design on constructability issues
- Reviews and/or supervises, as assigned, the preparation of construction estimates, cost engineering studies, schedules and budgets
- Analyzes assigned construction activities to determine the scope, time and resource requirements
- Ensures that vendors’ bids for material and equipment are in conformance to specifications
- Coordinates the interfacing between the construction automation plan and the project controls program at the jobsite. Reviews project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule
- Performs personnel evaluation of assigned subordinate personnel and ensures they receive progressive training
- May direct minimal numbers of manual craft field forces
- Works with various functions to ensure the project achieves corporate goals set for environmental, safety & health, quality, cost, and schedule
- Act as the Construction signaling lead discipline engineer, coordinating related discipline activities and interfacing with other areas/disciplines on the jobsite
- Ensuring safe working practices are adhered to at all times and the quality of the installation is to the highest standards

Requirements

- Strong experience (10 y+) in Installation works preferably on Signalling System
- Degree holder with Engineering/Computer Science Background,
- Must have strong organization, time management, communication and people skills, be able to multi-task and work under pressure,
- Strong and demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment to drive and lead a team of engineers
- Process minded
- Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the BACS Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.
- Familiar with BACS Business Ethics handbook and policies.
- Prior experience supervising and administering subcontractors.
- Knowledge of BACS “Zero Accidents” safety program.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
- Knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the contractor/ subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
- Proficiency skills in sub-contractor management
- Good negotiation skill & assertive,
- Good command of both written and spoken English,
- Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage
