Senior Engineering Specialist II

Basic Qualifications:

A recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline or specialized courses in an engineering discipline, engineering design and practice.

10 years of experience related to startup of plant and equipment operations

5 years of experience with supervision of startup personnel or related experience

5 years of experience with operations of an LNG facility.

Right to work in the US


Prior experience with Bechtel startup procedures and processes.

Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of startup, operations, or maintenance for a project, including reviews of designs for plant operability and safety and jobsite startup assignments as directed. Performs work that involves conventional practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting requirements, unsuitability of conventional methods, or difficult coordination requirements.

Plans, guides, or prepares project administrative and technical documents as required for startup, maintenance, operation, or testing. Assists with the preparation of operations manuals.

Assumes a lead role over other engineers for specific tasks as assigned. May direct overall startup activities on specific tasks.

Broad knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and facilities operations criteria pertinent to the activities supervised.

Position Duties/Responsibilities (This section describes in more detail the functions of this specific position. Indicate any skills not available in the SAP Skills Catalog along with the appropriate proficiency levels)

Prepare commissioning procedures and plan and document all aspects of commissioning including all necessary materials, personnel, vendor support as required by the project scope of work.

Responsible for supervising other startup engineers, facility operations, manual labor, and subcontract personnel as required. Responsible to ensure all facility equipment is placed in service in a safe and prudent manner.

Coordinate startup activities with construction, safety engineers, environmental engineers, contractors, facility operations, and startup personnel. Work hours as required. This will include working all shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays as the need arises.

Responsible for the conduct of contract required performance tests or demonstrations as required.

This position is to prepare for and conduct commissioning, startup and initial operation of the ISBL portion of the CCL Liquafaction facility. This will include directing Client Operations personnel in the performance of initial testing and initial operation.

Position is at the CCL jobsite for Stage 1 (OSBL, Train 1 & Train 2). Site is in Gregory, TX.

Assignment to begin in March/April 2018 and is estimated to last 18 months. Potential exists for extension with Stage 2 (Train 3) now under development.
