Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP):
Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.
Job Summary:
The role of CSU Training Advisor (Commissioning & Startup) will be responsible for coordinating the development, organization and implementation of the CSU training plan for a project. The scope is related according to the contractual figure, the client and the current law of the country in execution. Must advise with accuracy, judgment, initiative and understanding of relevant processes. It must guarantee the implementation of the operational phases of life in a project and prospect, such as: Training – Information flow (Macro) – structuring and operation Zero Incident Teams (ECI) - Action Plans – Self–Evaluation – Perception Surveys - Audits.
Major Responsibilities:
- Training: Conducting courses on Electrical Risk, Electrical Rescue and Blocking of Action Energies with training scopes.
- Advising on the use, development, and generation of reports according to project needs.
- Reviewing and advising on executive reports from collaborating companies, whether weekly, monthly, semi-annual, annual, and according to project requirements.
- Advising and supporting the site in the analysis and response of training as appropriate.
- Monitoring the development and analysis of perception surveys, evaluations, self-assessments, and audits of the implementation process of the current training plan.
- Preparing executive reports weekly, monthly, semi-annually, and annually at the project level, and consider evaluating the implementation system.
- Attending planning, evaluation, and development meetings of the current training plan according to the contractual figure.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Electrical Engineering (or international equivalent) with a minimum of 10 years' experience performing work with low and medium voltage, desirable high voltage electricity, or 12 to 14 years of relevant work experience.
- Required qualified tuition by the College of Engineers of Peru (CIP).
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge in NFPA 70E standard, RESEATE, CNE, IEC and IEEE.
- Technical knowledge in: 4.16 Kv switches, 110, 220, 380 v differential switches, 220, 380 and 440 v thermomagnetic switches, 4.16 Kv mining cables, commissioning of electric starters in 480 v MCC, columns in MCC up to 4.16 Kv, commissioning of transformers up to 22.9 Kv, 4.16 Kv KonNX connectors, 380 and 480 v motors, start-up tests of 380 v generator sets, batteries, solar panels and inverters, temporary electrical installations for the construction stage, measurement and protection equipment, UPS and HVAC, transformers up to 22.9 Kv, optical fiber in poles and electrical rooms up to 22.9 Kv, medium and low voltage drives of 480 v and 4.16 Kv, electrical bars of 480 v and 4.16 Kv, distribution panels, auxiliary transformers inside electrical rooms up to 480 v, wells and grounding up to 380 v and 480 v and thermography.
