Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP):
Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.
Job Summary:
The Specialist in Workface Effectiveness will play a strategic role in the Yanacocha project, working directly with the leader of the CWEO area in the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of critical activities. This position is focused on data management, coordination of multidisciplinary initiatives, and the creation of analytical tools that drive efficiency at the field work.
Major Responsibilities:
- Preparing and coordinating cycles of data collection and analysis in critical areas of the project.
- Collecting and analyzing data on improvement opportunities.
- Supporting action plan initiatives with different project disciplines.
- Managing and creating dashboards, charts, and productivity analyses aimed at continuous improvement.
- Organizing technical documentation, control versions, and support review processes.
- Participating in technical meetings and conduct field observations.
- Recording critical moments of the shift and apply VOW/DS surveys.
- Visualizing schedules using Gantt charts.
- Having the ability to interact with people in different disciplines.
- Assigning and tracking resources, budgets, and workloads.
- Building an inclusive environment where thoughts, ideas, and disagreements are encouraged and generated by others to foster greater innovation and problem-solving for business success.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree in Civil, Industrial, Commercial, or Execution Engineering, as well as Computer Engineering, considering the multidisciplinary nature of the area. The candidate must demonstrate experience in data management, mining construction processes, and digital tools for planning and analysis. At least 2-5 years of experience in the position within the construction sector, and experience in the mining sector is desirable.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with Power BI for data analysis and visualization (desirable).
- Knowledge of construction processes in mining.
- Data analysis and report generation.
- Advanced management of MS Project, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to manage technical documentation and control versions.
- Skill in working within multidisciplinary teams and participating in technical meetings.
- Field observation and application of evaluation instruments such as VOW/DS surveys.
- Effective communication and results-oriented approach.
- Intermediate proficiency in English, sufficient to understand technical documentation and prepare data analysis reports and executive summaries.
