Job Summary:

Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Identifying, analyzing and managing the needs of the project workers, develop, design programs, plans, procedures and wellness activities.
  • Preparing the annual social welfare program, aligned with the operational and strategic plan of the project.
  • Planning, executing and monitoring events and initiatives aimed at the development of social, cultural, health, sports, recreational and institutional activities in accordance with the social welfare program.
  • Evaluating the development of activities and wellness plans, to propose strategies that allow continuous improvement.
  • Carrying out the necessary and required procedures before EsSalud regarding the subsidies, medical rest procedures, etc. of the project staff.
  • Carrying out accompaniment and follow-up coordination in the event of a work accident and illnesses of the workers.
  • Planning and defining the necessary resources according to the labor forecast of the project, in coordination with the construction areas for the specific resources.
  • Managing the SCTR, Personal Accident and other policies that apply to the project staff. Managing before EsSalud, EPS and government health entities.
  • Coordinating with the Occupational Doctor for occupational health issues of the workers and follow-up to the workers in the recovery of their health status.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Required a degree in Social Work with minimum 3 years of relevant experience in similar positions, preferably in large-scale, high-value and complex EPC/EPCM projects or related to the Construction and mining Industry. Previous experience and availability to work in shifts at remote sites.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Preferably with knowledge of the current legal – labor regulations of the general labor regime and special regime of civil construction, as well as in the labor legal regulations of Safety and Health at Work.
  • Knowledge of labor and OSH legal regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of the employment of Labor in Peru, the subcontracting of construction or the logistics of handicrafts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. A high level of personal integrity.
  • Preferably with knowledge and command of the English language (spoken and written intermediate level).
  • Handling of digital tools (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.), intermediate level.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
