Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP):

Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will help improve work processes by mapping work activities and systems, gathering and analyzing data, and participating in assessments. You will assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management tools, aggregating performance data, and tracking effectiveness of corrective actions. Your work will help resolve and reduce the risk of work quality-related issues.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Participating in quality audits or activities covered by the project's quality program/plan.
  • Preparing and completing quality audit checklists of all functions to ensure compliance with the quality program/plan.
  • Reviewing selected engineering, construction and procurement documents to ensure that applicable quality requirements are included.
  • Reviewing documentation and reports on the quality of components or assemblies to ensure their compliance with engineering and quality requirements.
  • Participating in the implementation and establishment of quality procedures, including monitoring and reporting of core processes, standardized metrics, evaluation of trends, lessons learned and best practices.
  • Supporting the review of relevant supplier procedures to ensure compliance with project program/quality plan requirements.
  • Following up on actions taken in response to audit findings.
  • Participating in monitoring the implementation of the project's quality program/plan, such as People-Based Quality (PBQ), Lessons Learned, Closed-Loop Corrective Actions (CLCA) and Continuous Improvement.
  • Developing and updating Power Bi metrics for QA. Develop applications to facilitate the monitoring of the main quality processes.
  • Preparing presentations according to the requirements of the QA team.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a recognized degree in engineering (or international equivalent) with 3+ years’ practical experience in engineering and construction.
  • Desirable: Diploma in Quality or Quality courses and diploma in computer applications.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Technical knowledge in the application of engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations practices.
  • Knowledge of quality principles and their application in engineering, environment, procurement, construction, testing, receptions.
  • Knowledge of the application of the corrective action system to eliminate non-conforming conditions.
  • Knowledge of the requirements and regulations that impact the quality program.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication.
  • Mastery of the use of applicable computer applications (Ms Office, Power Bi, Power app, AI).
