Project Overview:

Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP):

Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.

Job Summary:

This role will perform non-routine engineering/planning and cost scheduling activities to the Yanacocha WTP project. You will establish relationships with stakeholders, perform schedule analysis and integrate activities, identify constraints, quantify risks, monitor costs and performance, recommend alternatives and provide training sessions and workshops. Your activities will synthesize the components of the project in a perfect execution.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the fulfillment of the construction objectives within the established deadlines and standards.
  • Coordinating with all departments to ensure that weekly hour reports are consistent and logically integrated into the total project.
  • Reviewing the analysis of the project schedule and the studies of the problem areas to determine the criticality of the scheduled activities.
  • Collecting and analyzing alternatives to align weekly hour reports. 
  • Reviewing the development and accuracy of progress payment requests to our client, coordination with F&A.
  • Reviewing and preparing CBP budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures.
  • Preparing costs using historical data, statistical analysis and cost and quantity comparisons.
  • Leading workshops, interviews and information gathering in regards to aligning weekly reports.
  • Carrying out risk quantification activities as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requiered degree in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or similar (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience in absence of degree.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven experience in invoice tracking and payment preparation.
  • Proven experience in quantity tracking.
  • Proven experience in the preparation of deliverables.
