Project Overview:

Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP):

Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.

Job Summary:

This role will be responsible for supervising the Scaffolding Program for the Yanacocha WTP Project that BEO uses to manage this supply. Coordinate with the Project staff to ensure that a comprehensive scaffolding material supply program is established in accordance with SWPP 4MP-T81-02103 scaffolding control and management, to be performed in day and night shifts.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Managing and being responsible for on-site scaffolding staff on the night shift.
  • Providing the necessary training to the foremen and workers.
  • Managing the supply, the supply schedule and the inventory levels according to the BEO procedures. Sending information for the EDP monthly billing summary.
  • Managing the supply and installation of scaffolds through the Hi Vis program. Reporting weekly and monthly on the supply, installation and scaffolding metrics still assembled. 
  • Coordinating the development and maintenance of scaffolding policies and procedures
  • Understanding how to interpret various scaffold design drawings as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience in construction projects.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experienced and with complete knowledge of the scaffolding area of specialization, solves a wide range of problems creatively.
  • Works on problems of diverse scopes where data analysis requires the evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in the selection of methods and techniques to obtain solutions.
  • Establish networks and connects with internal and external senior staff in their own area of expertise.
  • Interaction usually requires the ability to obtain the cooperation of others, making presentations of technical information on specific projects or schedules.
