Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP):

Ubicada a 800 km al noreste de Lima, Perú, Yanacocha es la mina de oro más grande de Sudamérica. El Proyecto WTP consiste en dos de las plantas de tratamiento de aguas ácidas más grandes de Sudamérica (la del oeste tendrá una capacidad de 3.000 y la del este 2.700 m3/hora). Actualmente se realizan Trabajos Tempranos en el sitio, preparando las plataformas permanentes y áreas de acopio para las plantas Este y Oeste, además de la estimación Clase 2, programa nivel 3 y el Plan de Ejecución.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be required to treat patients presenting at a clinic and lead day-to-day operations. You will coordinate the development and implementation of site medical plans, protocols, facility requirements, emergency procedures, audits, inspections, quality assurance, and other medical practice management tasks. Your work will promote health, safety, and wellness for on-site employees.   

Major Responsibilities:

• Facilitating execution of the medical component of an ESH Program inclusive of technical and administrative aspects.
• Providing occupational, primary, and emergency medical advice to project personnel.
• Advising OSHA classification in injured or ill cases and renders follow-up treatment as needed under senior medical professional supervision.
• Preparing incident reports as required.
• Conducting drug and alcohol screenings.
• Possessing the critical skills and relevant current training to deliver emergency and routine medical care.
• Ensuring safe medical care standards according to legislation, policies and procedures as contained in standard medical protocols.
• Administrators triage system and is proficient in physical examinations.
• Facilitating and coordinates required lab work and diagnostic testing or medical imaging requirements. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor’s degree, collegiate and qualified by the Medical College of Peru as a Medical Surgeon, with a current master’s degree in occupational health or in Occupational and Environmental Health or in Occupational Medicine and Environment; and at least 10 years of professional experience in occupational health and 3 years of experience in the mining sector.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Solid knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety.
• Knowledge of current regulations.
• Leadership course. 
• Experience in analysis and preparation of reports and consolidation of statistical data.
• Desirable experience in Bechtel or as a Bechtel partner (in Consortium), as well as knowledge of the construction practices carried out by Bechtel.
• Knowledge in Office intermediate level (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
• Availability to travel.
