Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP):

Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will work with the project team to assist in the preparation, establishment, and maintenance of schedule data for proposals or contracts. You will perform schedule development duties, monitoring, reporting, and analysis and assist with schedule recovery plans. Your work will enable Bechtel to optimize the scheduling details for critical activities to best achieve project deadlines and objectives.

Major Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the preparation of schedule data for proposals or contracts.
• Establishing and maintains the schedule for a specific discipline area or specialty.
• Performing schedule development duties to include establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS), determining the work activity duration, establishing the proper workflow logic ties, and developing the required job expenditure.
• Performing schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialties.
• Assisting with maintenance of critical path schedule reports and schedule performance metrics.
• Performing schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule activities.
• Assisting with schedule recovery plans.
• Supporting, if required, local companies in preparation and control of P6 schedule.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree in Civil or Industrial Engineering (or international equivalent) related to the position and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Direct Hire Experience, preferably in a cost reimbursable environment.
• Experience in the design and/or construction of mining facilities is preferred, particularly related to planning issues.
• Computer literate in planning software Primavera P6, word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
• Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
• Competent in communication and problem solving ability. 
• Competent in English (Desirable).
