Yanacocha Water Treatment Project (WTP)
Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the effective implementation of the Quality Management System, participating in the implementation of the quality program/plans. Supervising quality activities on the project as instructed by the Quality and Risk Project Manager and / or the Field QA Lead for the WCS area. May maintain client liaison and communication for project quality activities. Performing audits and surveillances to identify and mitigate risks as input for the Quality planning. Advises management of project quality problems and progress.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assisting in development, coordination, communication and concurs with Quality policies, standards, core programs and procedures for use across a small to medium project.
- Leading project quality planning for small to medium project Contributes to continuous improvement of core programs to improve project execution efficiency and performance.
- Building and driving competency/training program to drive the quality culture and processes across the project Implements guidance requirements for project Quality planning on project.
- Managing the project level Quality Management System certification and represents the project during audits conducted by client, management, or regulatory agencies.
- Assisting in managing the auditing and assessments to verify the effectiveness of the quality system/program/plan Provides input to the quality elements of project execution plans and project quality plans.
- Developing schedule, budgets, and staffing planning for project quality activities.
- Coordinating, scheduling, and communicating project or GBU (Global Business Unit) Management Review requirements with functions to ensure management review goals and objectives are met.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering or Physical Science from an accredited university with 8 - 10 years of progressive related Quality Assurance (QA) experience or in lieu of degree, a minimum of 12 - 14 years of progressive related QA experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- High technical knowledge in the application of engineering, procurement, construction sufficient to comprehend requirements.
- Database and Microsoft Office suite (TEAMS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power-BI) proficiency. Third party Auditor Certification.
- Networks and connects with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
- Qualified, enabled and available to drive light vehicles at Site.
- Previous experience in quality assurance in mining projects over 3,000 meters above sea level.
- Previous experience in projects involving pipelines, pumping stations, roads / pipeline crossing.
- Excellent English and Spanish written and verbal communications skills.
- A high level of personal motivation, high standards, and the ability to work within changing situations to meet short deadlines.
- High knowledge of regulatory requirements and functions that impact the QA program.
- Good knowledge in risk management processes.
