Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP):
Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for developing training strategies that will help manual staff comply with the provisions of the “training and training plan”, approved by the WS (Workforce Services) Management, complying at all times with the regulations and standards of conduct of Bechtel, in terms of quality, safety, occupational health and environmental care.
Major Responsibilities:
- Implementing actions through the training and training program and plan, in order to improve the skills of specialized workers.
- Correctly reading and interpreting the approved training and training procedures and standards.
- Preparing improvement reports of the courses and/or workshops, developed for the specialized staff.
- Managing and periodically reviewing the materials, tools, instruments and equipment that will be used in the development of the courses and workshops.
- Executing their tasks in accordance with the procedures and standards established by the Company and the Client.
- Verifying that the different assigned teams are operational, in good condition and report on possible incidents that could be generated.
- Does not operate or handle any equipment and/or tools for which it has not been authorized.
- Complying with the Occupational Health and Safety procedures and the Care of the Environment established by the Company and the Client.
- Communicating to your immediate boss any event or situation that puts or may put at risk the training and / or training activities to be developed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a degree in Civil Construction (preferred), and 2-5 years of experience in the position in the construction industry.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in the position in the mining sector (preferred).
- Experience in the field, working on Shift Schedules.
- Experience in formal or informal teaching/training/instruction in the Civil Construction specialties (desirable).
- Experience as a Technician and/or Teacher of civil construction (desirable).
- Basic training techniques.
- Competent use of the Microsoft Office program.
- Upper-Intermediate English level (desirable).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
