Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP):

Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will act as a team advisor and program expert in the coordination of the construction workface effectiveness (CWE) team. You will own and develop programs that address the development needs of project field leaders and that mitigate constraints to workface improvement. You will analyze metrics and feedback and recommend improvements and initiatives to support alignment with business strategy and ensure program objectives are met.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Proactively engaging with their teams’ development through Continuous Performance Management, competency development/assessment and feedback.
  • Supervising the development and implementation of the project Construction Workface Effectiveness Execution Plan at the jobsite, providing oversight of the project CWE team, including staffing, development, and readiness, and implementing the Construction Workface Effectiveness program in accordance with the requirements of this procedure.
  • Supervising organization and facilitation of all CWE tools related to the identification and mitigation of workface constraints (i.e., site productivity engagement cycle; High-Performance Leaders (HPL) tailored behavior / leadership development; Process Improvement; Coaching) as defined in the project Construction Workface Effectiveness Execution Plan for assigned area in accordance with the requirements of this procedure.
  • Managing, auditing, monitoring, and evaluating the effectiveness of the Construction Workface Effectiveness project execution plan.
  • Identifying, supporting, and guiding the development of team members within CWE.
  • Leveraging construction and industry knowledge with key stakeholders across the enterprise to gain an understanding of business requirements, objectives and development items.
  • Identifying innovative industry solutions and incorporates them into internal best practices.
  • Leveraging workface effectiveness, lessons learned and industry trends to track and monitor AWP effectiveness.
  • Developing communications strategy for the launch of learning programs, and/or course offerings working closely with stakeholders.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10  years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes in mining, data analysis and report generation.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with Power BI for data analysis and visualization (desirable). 
  • Highly capable of working within multidisciplinary teams and participating in technical meetings. 
  • Field observation and application of evaluation instruments such as VOW/DS surveys. 
  • Effective communication and results-oriented approach.
  • Intermediate to advance proficiency in English is desirable.
  • Proficient in managing technical documentation and preparing data analysis reports and executive summaries.
