Project Overview:
Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP):
Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will provide operational and technical support assigned construction superintendents, construction personnel, including craft, regarding equipment and maintenance-related construction processes, procedures, and requirements.
Major Responsibilities:
- Supervising the supply operations of equipment and maintenance personnel on site.
- Assisting the POD if necessary.
- Understanding the BEO, CES Contract and the project scope, ensuring that all presented equipment requirements are correct and met.
- Managing the equipment provided to the site in conjunction with the BEO management team in Santiago.
- Ensuring that all Bechtel SWPP and CP related to certifications, documentation, maintenance, and inspections of equipment supply in the project are followed.
- Ensuring that PEMS information is presented in a timely manner from start to finish, reporting this information to management.
- Coordinating and managing the transportation of equipment from the site.
- Controlling and managing the project shrinkage process together with warehouse personnel.
- Establishing Base Tools for the Development / Work of Personnel Associated with the Project.
- Projecting in conjunction with Project Control / Project Management Staff.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) related to the position, and 10+ years of experience in construction crane and rigging supervision discipline.
- Required qualified tuition by the College of Engineers of Peru (CIP).
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth understanding of maintenance operations, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and techniques and proficiency in using maintenance management software (PEMS).
- Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.
- Knowledge of Bechtel’s “Zero Accidents” safety program.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for equipment malfunctions.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities plus Ability to train and develop maintenance personnel.
- Ability to develop and implement maintenance schedules.
- Competence in coordinating with vendors and suppliers for parts and services.
- Capability to manage maintenance budgets and control costs.
