Project Overview:
Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States. Once complete, the mine and processing facilities will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the United States
As the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, Bechtel is responsible for managing and integrating the efforts of a team of contractors engineering and building the facility. The project is in the high desert and wide-open spaces of north-central Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border, 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno.
Job Summary:
As a CADD Draftsperson you will develop and produce technical drawings. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review and approve drawings, solving complex technical issues and ensuring the drawings comply with all regulations and standards. #LI-NP1
Major Responsibilities:
- Develops, coordinates and reviews design within a design work group.
- Produces drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, steel detailing, and mechanical, piping, electrical and control systems. Ensures drawings comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
- Coordinates and interfaces as directed with the day-to-day technical work of engineers, designers and drafters.
- Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to upper management.
- Facilitates technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators).
- Prepares or oversees the preparation of design estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly.
- Other responsibilities as designated.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires engineering or trade qualifications and 8-10 years of relevant experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Sound knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline.
- Experience with multi discipline interface management and global 3D model oversight.
- Expertise in reading, interpreting and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
- Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to design responsibilities.
- Experience in design and drafting, including demonstrated expertise in a lead role or recognized courses in the directing of personnel.
