Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.

 

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. 

 

This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.

Job Summary:

The successful internship candidate will perform a variety of human resources operations and support activities in one or more of these areas: Employee Services, Employee Records and Administration, Learning and Employee Development/Experience, and Talent Acquisition.

Major Responsibilities:

Human Resource interns may be responsible for:

Employee Services

  • Supports the HR team with the day-to-day functional and operational effectiveness of the Warsaw office
  • Provides support to Warsaw office employees in a variety of HR related areas, including general office inquiries, timekeeping, etc.

 

Employee Records and Administration

  • Support HR operations by maintaining employee records, tracking data, and assisting with HR systems and reporting, also ensuring that appropriate systems are utilized for recordkeeping and documentation of HR actions

 

Learning and Employee Development/Experience

  • Supports Project HR team with deployment of learning and training programs, designed to support the continued learning and skill-building of Warsaw office employees
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the Warsaw interns and assist the HR team in the preparation and delivery of the Poland internship program calendar of events

 

Talent Acquisition

  • Support the hiring and onboarding of new Warsaw office and overall Poland staff for the Poland AP1000 project
  • Assists with employment verifications for new and existing employees, as required

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Global Business Management, Organizational Development, Psychology, Sociology, or Communications, from an accredited college or university

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Completed at least one year of studies in one of the above fields
  • Active student status, in a strong academic standing
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Polish
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new software programs as required
  • Ability to multi-task and focus on multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to maintain strict and utmost confidentiality when working with employee or business-related information, following direction and guidance from the HR team
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adaptability and flexibility
