Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. 

This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.

Job Summary:

Bechtel’s internship program was created to cultivate real-life industry interest based on hands-on experience.  Many new university graduate hires have begun their careers at Bechtel as a summer intern.

Civil/Structural Engineering interns work in multi-disciplinary teams to provide support to all civil/structural engineering aspects of our project.

Major Responsibilities:

Civil/Structural interns may be responsible for:

• Preparing and reviewing drawings and specifications.
• Contributing to the design process by utilizing software platforms including Tekla, Dlubal, Mathcad, AutoCad / Civil 3D, Revit in accordance with discipline. 
• Demonstrating awareness of the implications of building codes and project requirements.
• Working collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment to produce integrated project documents.
• Attending project team meetings.
• Assisting in product research.
• Providing construction support as it relates to architectural design activities.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree program in Environmental Engineering or Civil /Structural Engineering (w branży inżynierii sanitarnej, inżynierii drogowej, konstrukcji budowlanych), at an accredited college or university

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Completed at least one year of studies in one of the above fields
• Active student status, in a strong academic standing
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Polish
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Adaptability and flexibility
