Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide professional Financial & Accounting support services.

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Your role will involve managing accounts payable and receivable, conducting financial analysis. You will also perform regular reconciliations, support internal and external audits, provide financial insights to aid strategic decision-making. Additionally, you will stay updated on tax laws and emerging technologies to enhance financial processes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides professional accounting services. 
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
  • Ensuring compliance with tax regulations by preparing and filing tax returns and staying updated on changes in tax laws.
  • Works with transactional groups (e.g., Accounts Payable and Receivables and Client billings) to identify common problems across projects that may be candidates for work process improvements. 
  • Performing regular reconciliations of bank statements and financial records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Conducting internal and external audits to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Preparing and presenting financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Works cross functionally with project organizations to ensure accuracy of financial information. 
  • Implementing new technologies to improve financial processes and reporting, as well as adapting to compliance requirements such as JPK and KSeF.
  • Provides financial support, oversight, and management to GBU projects.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Approximately 8-10 years of professional experience in accounting, including experience working in an accounting services firm.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and tax regulations (CIT, VAT, WHT, deferred tax).
  • A strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is essential for accurate financial reporting.
  • Excellent command of the English language, including accounting terminology.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both within a team and with clients.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.
  • The ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data to make informed decisions.
