Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.  This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide professional Financial & Accounting support services.

 

As an Accountant you will be responsible for end‑to‑end processing of vendor invoices and employee expenses, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely settlements. The role includes invoice processing, VAT verification, payments support, and expense report reviews. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the preparation of financial reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. The position works closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and finance teams, and supports month‑end close activities and continuous improvement of AP and T&E processes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides professional accounting services.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
  • End‑to‑end ownership of the Accounts Payable process, including verification and posting vendor invoices
  • Processing and monitoring of structured invoices in KSeF in line with applicable regulations and internal procedures
  • Preparation of data for vendor payments and monitoring the timeliness of settlements
  • Reconciliation of Accounts Payable clearing accounts and vendor balances
  • Processing and settlement of employee expenses and domestic and international travel (Travel & Expense)
  • Review and validation of expense reports in SAP Concur for compliance with company policies and tax regulations
  • Posting of travel expenses, corporate card transactions, and employee expense reimbursements
  • Participation in month‑end and year‑end close activities (cut‑off, provisions, and accruals)
  • Performing regular reconciliations of bank statements and financial records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Cooperation with Procurement, HR, Payroll, and Finance teams (GL, Tax), and active participation in continuous improvement of AP and T&E processes
  • Conducting internal and external audits to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with prior relevant professional experience in accounting or finance roles.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Approximately 4–7 years of professional experience in accounting or finance, preferably in Accounts Payable, expense processing, or a similar accounting function
  • Practical knowledge of accounting processes, including invoice processing, expense accounting, and reconciliation of vendor and clearing accounts
  • Good understanding of indirect taxes, in particular VAT and CIT principles
  • Working knowledge of accounting standards sufficient to ensure accurate transaction posting and financial records
  • Very good command of the English language, including basic accounting and financial terminology
  • Experience working with accounting systems and T&E tools (e.g. SAP, SAP Concur, ERP systems) is highly desirable.
  • Hands‑on experience in operational accounting processes (Accounts Payable, Travel & Expense, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial data and documentation
  • Good organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to handle recurring tasks and monthly deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and external vendors in a professional environment
