Project Overview:

Bechtel’s focus on renewables and clean energy is helping our customers deliver transformational renewables and clean energy projects. Bechtel renewables team will perform the project management, engineering, procurement, and construction for a 218MWac / 271MWdc utility-scale solar photovoltaic (“PV”) generating plant to be located in Victoria, Texas.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Considered an Assistant Superintendent Directs craft activities under supervision of superintendent and responsible for plan development, training, ES&H, quality, etc.  

Planning / Productivity 

  • Participates in the preparation of construction drawings and sketches. 
  • Participates in the development of planning construction methods and procedures.  
  • Develops projections and schedules for workforce, material and equipment requirements 
  • Reviews subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
  • Optimize the use of construction equipment and tools on the project - supervise layout, construction, and maintenance of temporary facilities
  • Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.

Tools, Materials & Equipment 

  • Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.  
  • Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.  

Safety / Quality 

  • Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements  
  • Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.  

Technical  

  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents 
  • Participates in the coordination of engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Prior Field Non-Manual Supervision experience on EPC projects.
  • Must have the right to work and remain the in the Unites States.
  • Previous renewables EPC experience (Preferred).
  • Utility scale solar project experience >100MW. (Preferred)
  • Prior large-scale EPC experience (Preferred)
  • Prior Direct Hire / Craft supervision experience. (Preferred)
  • High geographical mobility and Cross discipline experience. (Preferred)
