Project Overview:
Bechtel’s focus on renewables and clean energy is helping our customers deliver transformational renewables and clean energy projects. Bechtel renewables team will perform the project management, engineering, procurement, and construction for a 218MWac / 271MWdc utility-scale solar photovoltaic (“PV”) generating plant to be located in Victoria, Texas.
Job Summary:
Will coordinate, implement and support information and automation systems requirements to support the execution of the Posey Solar Project. Works with project disciplines responsible for the overall creation and operation of the Field IT infrastructure (Network, servers, end-user support), Automation Systems, and Integration platform for data exchanges. Also, will support the implementation of the local IT infrastructure and end-user support. Ensures quality and usability of data by completeness, timeliness, and accuracy monitoring, investigating and resolving data quality issues, identifying quality improvements, and maintaining business and usage rules. The Field Automation Specialist will interact with, key vendors, IS&T leadership, IS&T support groups, GBU functional support groups, and all levels of project / functional staff mainly construction, engineering, procurement, and document management.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides automation support to teams on project, including setup, training, application use in work-process, software quality assurance and control, reporting, database administration, and close-out of all construction automation software’s and applications
- Analyzes user requirements and coordinates compliance with work processes
- Assists with meetings, workshops, and presentations as required
- Provides software training to project team members as required
- Tests and supports data integration of interfaces between software/programs
- Assists with customization of applications as required by project
- Coordinates and prepares meetings, workshops, and presentations as required
- Broadens knowledge of database management, programming skills, and 3D tools, to support team and project construction planning, work packaging, progress reporting, material management, turnover/completions, workforce management and timekeeping
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, coordination skills with the project, customer, peer groups (within and outside IS&T), and related stakeholders.
- Proven record in IT infrastructure implementation at project sites.
- Must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of EPC automation tools
- Knowledge of project/application work processes
- Some understanding of industry principles and regulatory requirements around data integration and data delivery (e.g. ISO1950)
- Knowledge of data analytics and reporting (e.g. Power BI)
- Knowledge of the software and integration architecture of the core EPC applications (e.g. Autodesk, P6)
