Project Overview:

Bechtel’s focus on renewables and clean energy is helping our customers deliver transformational renewables and clean energy projects. Bechtel renewables team will perform the project management, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and startup for the Mammoth South, Central I and Central II project for a 376MW DC each (Total of 1.1GW DC) solar plant in Pulaski County, Indiana.

 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide automation support to project teams, including setup, training, application use in work-process, software quality assurance and control, reporting, database administration, and close-out of all construction automation software and applications. Your technical knowledge will help ensure applications and software meet user requirements and are compliant with work processes. #LI-SP1

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides automation support to teams on project, including setup, training, application use in work-process, software quality assurance and control, reporting, database administration, and close-out of all construction automation software’s and applications ​ 
  • Analyzes user requirements and coordinates compliance with work processes​ 
  • Assists with meetings, workshops, and presentations as required​ 
  • Provides software training to project team members as required​ 
  • Tests and supports data integration of interfaces between software/programs​ 
  • Assists with customization of applications as required by project​ 
  • Coordinates and prepares meetings, workshops, and presentations as required​ 
  • Broadens knowledge of database management, programming skills, and 3D tools, to support team and project construction planning, work packaging, progress reporting, material management, turnover/completions, workforce management and timekeeping 

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Required a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

       Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support automation workflows for solar project data using GIS, SQL, and internal digital platforms (Agile, DSCS, EIS/Databroker, ArcGIS, SetRoute, PowerBI, ACC/BIM360, and Smart Completions). 
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes and improve field-to-office data flow. 
  • Manage and optimize spatial data (e.g., site layouts, trenching paths, pile locations) and integrate it with field operations. 
  • Coordination with engineering to ensure timely and accurate design data for upload and use in geospatial programs (ArcGIS pro) 
  • Design dashboards and tools to visualize construction progress, resource allocation, and QA/QC metrics. 
  • Create SQL queries and scripts to extract, clean, and process data from multiple systems for reporting and analysis. 
  • Collaborate with field engineers, superintendents, and project managers to translate operational needs into automated solutions. 
  • Support digital construction tools such as mobile data capture, digital forms, and project management software. 
  • Identify new tools and innovations to continue to improve processes and procedure with external and internal stakeholders to facilitate new solutions for projects. 
  • Assist in trialing new innovations on projects and properly document business case for viability of solution and proper steps for implementation (may require travel) 
  • Maintain documentation for systems, tools, and processes to ensure continuity and scalability. Major focus on standardizing the digital execution program across all solar projects. 
  • Provide training and technical support to field users and internal stakeholders on digital tools and automation workflows. 

       Required Qualifications: 

  • Proficient in SQL for data manipulation, reporting, and integration across systems. 
  • Experienced with GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and geospatial data workflows. 
  • Familiarity with construction processes, site layouts, and field data needs. 
  • Strong understanding of digital transformation in construction environments. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, field-driven environment. 
  • Ability to problem-solve, especially in an integrated project delivery environment, applying industry best practices. 
  • Self-motivated individual with outstanding leadership skills and the ability to influence without authority. 
  • Understanding of project workflows from design, estimation, construction administration, and coordination. 

       Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Autodesk Build, BIM360, Primavera).
