Project Overview:

Bechtel’s focus on renewables and clean energy is helping our customers deliver transformational renewables and clean energy projects. Bechtel renewables team will perform the project management, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and startup for the Mammoth South, Central I and Central II project for a 376MW DC each (Total of 1.1GW DC) solar plant in Pulaski County, Indiana

 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team as a Project Manager to develop goals, milestones, priorities, metrics, and execution plans. Your team will monitor customer feedback, compliance, and project performance, ensuring that safety and sustainability goals are integrated. Your innovative recommendations for high quality work will help ensure customer satisfaction and will support new business development. #LI-JL1

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for direction or performance staff activities, including development of departmental procedures and standard project procedures or responsible for providing expertise in specific area​. 
  • Establishes processes for tracking and delivering workload​. 
  • Establishes teams and distributes the workload​. 
  • Serves as a liaison between project teams, external clients, or other functional areas of the organization.​ 
  • Ensures work is completed on time and within established quality standards and provides reports to internal and external clients and/or project/functional sponsors.​ 
  • Evaluates and recommends changes to policies or procedures. 
  • Leadership of the project compliance functions including: Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H); Surety; Security; and Quality & Performance Management.
  • Serves as Deputy PM in absence of PM.
  • Customer Interface – communications directly with senior customer representatives in all areas of responsibility.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BS degree and 15+ years of progressive experience in the following functions - project management, procurement, contracts, engineering, environmental, operations, and/or quality assurance.

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of Bechtel organization, policies, procedures and programs including QA and Safety.
  • Experience with lump sum and reimbursable projects.
  • Ability to effectively organize and staff a project team in a matrix organization.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Bechtel standard tools, techniques and procedures. Business and Commercial awareness.
  • Knowledge and experience in Project Execution Plan development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge and experience in contracts/subcontracts formulation, risk analysis, negotiations, and implementation including:
  • Knowledge of project insurance issues/options.
  • Knowledge of cross functional work processes and interface knowledge, especially Project Controls, Supply Chain management, Quality management and the ability to manage the relationships/interfaces with management and functional groups.
  • Oral, written, and graphic communication and presentation skills.
