Project Overview:

CCL Midscale 8-9, LLC (“Owner”) is developing the Corpus Christi Midscale Train 8 and 9 Project adjacent to the Corpus Christi Liquefaction Stage 3 (“CCL Stage 3”) project located in San Patricio County, Corpus Christi, TX, USA. The Stage 3 facility will consist of seven (7) liquefaction units, each having an aggregate nominal LNG production capacity of approximately 1.49 MTPA and a combined nameplate capacity of 10.43 MTPA.

 

Job Summary:

Workface planning (WFP) is a work packaging model for organizing execution in the field of a construction project. Workface planning is the creation of IWPs which are small, well-defined work packages that describe a specific scope of work for a crew.

Bechtel India is seeking applications from experienced senior Electrical & Instrumentation Field Engineers, Construction Engineers with expertise in the Oil & Gas, Power and Petrochemical industries to support the role of Workface Planner E&I at our Vadodara office.

The Workface Planner (E&I) will convert Construction Work Packages (CWPs) into Installation Work Packages (IWPs) for electrical and instrumentation commodities. They will ensure all necessary drawings, deliverables, engineered data, and resources are available, and constraints are removed before releasing IWPs to the field construction team. Additionally, they will support home office construction activities such as constructability reviews, ensuring design safety, providing input to engineering and procurement teams to improve Total Installed Cost (TIC), and maximizing preassembly.

This is an agency hired role; successful candidate in this role will be deployed on fixed term contracts through approved employment agencies.

 

Job Dimensions:

Supervision Received

  • Receives technical and operational supervision from Lead Construction Coordinator on the project.

Supervision Exercised

  • Provides technical and administrative direction to subordinate construction engineers if assigned.

Contacts:

  • Interface with the engineering design functional group, procurement and contracts, project controls, quality and project estimation and project proposal teams.
  • Jobsite contacts are E&I Field Engineers, Lead E&I Field Engineers.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supports preparation and development of E&I plan for release of Installation Work Packages, in close coordination with E&I Field Engineers, E&I Superintendents, and Lead Construction Coordinator on the project.
  • Contributes to construction related design decisions by providing Construction’s perspective to schedules, design deliverables, equipment purchases, degree of shop fabrication, and equipment delivery configuration and sequence.
  • Reviews work scope, checking sequencing, access, resources, equipment needs, pre-work, materials and support services.
  • Develops and assembles detailed Installation work Packages for Electrical equipment and bulks, field instruments, control system equipment and associated bulks as per the project guidelines and procedures, which includes, compiling E&I installation drawings, installation details, model snapshots, vendor drawings, inspection test records, or any other documents or Engineering deliverables associated with the E&I IWPs.
  • Verifies completeness of engineering drawings, installation details, engineering data, vendor information and vendor data, ensuing all engineering and vendor information and data is available for successful construction of assigned IWPs.  
  • Monitor quality of IWPs ensuring scoping and preparation of IWPs is done right the first time
  • Prepares construction drawings and sketches as require.  
  • Preforms material takeoffs for E&I commodities and bulks
  • Monitors project schedule and ensures performance and timely delivery of IWPs; coordinate with Project Controls team, planners, other stakeholder of the project and ensure E&I IWPs are issued as per the project priorities.
  • Facilitates the identification and removal of constraints.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A recognized bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or international equivalent).
  • Minimum experience of 12 yrs in large EPC projects, or 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Professional with an understanding of electrical and instrumentation installation on large EPC projects, ability to resolves a wide range of issues.
  • Jobsite experience an E&I Field Engineer, E&I Construction Engineer on large industrial projects is essential.
  • Knowledge of assembling drawings and deliverables for smaller scope of work or preparation of installation work packages for construction E&I crews.
  • Proficient in reading drawings, interpret design, specifications and industry standards and codes.
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Proficient MS Office applications
  • An experience of international field assignments is highly preferred
  • An experience on LNG / Petrochemical projects is highly preferred.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A recognized diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or international equivalent).
  • Minimum experience of 10 yrs in large EPC projects, or 15 to 20 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working experience at the jobsites as a Field Engineer, Construction Engineer on large industrial projects is essential.
  • Shall have an experience of preparation of Electrical & Instrumentation work packages,
  • Proficient in reading drawings, interpret design, specifications and industry standards and codes.
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Proficient MS Office applications
  • An experience of international field assignments is highly preferred
  • An experience on LNG / Petrochemical projects is highly preferred.
  • Persons with only scheduling experience should not apply.
  • People posted at jobsite but not directly involved in installation/execution should not apply.
