Job Summary:

This position is open for Project Cost Estimator with ability to support a functional role. The candidate will be required to prepare, review, and present CAPEX related entire project estimate with supporting detailed discipline estimates. The candidate needs to have a strong ability to lead a team of discipline estimators and responsible for major complex project CAPEX EPC/EPCM estimates for GBUs like Oil, Gas, LNG, Chemicals, Semiconductors, Manufacturing, Datacentres, Combined Cycle, Carbon Capture, Mining, Nuclear, Motorways, and Large Infrastructure (like Airports, Water storage etc),

The successful candidate must have ability to develop all Class of estimates (Conceptual to Execute), performs material and labor cost analysis, develop and update historical databases, and enhances department procedures. Supports estimate reporting and reviews.  Executes other simultaneous tasks within broadly defined parameters for estimating department.  Ability to coach and mentor Junior Estimators in team.

Major Responsibilities:

• Prepares CAPEX (Direct, Indirect and Burdens) cost estimates for all class of estimates from Conceptual to Execute (AACEI Class5 to Class1).
• Performs quantity take offs for a discipline or commodity specialty using defined documents.  Collects, reconciles, and verifies data for summary comparisons.
• Skill in understanding technical processes, engineering drawings, quantity determinations, and mathematical and financial records.
• Works with other disciplines and functions to collect all necessary data on scope and quantities to prepare an accurate estimate in specialty discipline areas.
• Produces cost estimates using crew-based approach including formation of crews from multiple crafts.
• Prepares estimate basis documentation capturing assumptions, rationale, scope inclusions and exclusions for specific contributions.
• Prepares estimate summaries and presentations for all reviews: like Project Reviews, Sr Management or Client Estimate reviews. 
• Ensures that estimate is in line with market trends and pricing.
• Researches, develops and maintains costs, quantities, ratios and metrics of the historical cost databases pertaining to specific section. Understands the data and various sources of data.  Extracts non-standard data and formulates the data into comparative summary format for analysis.
• Prepares indirect cost estimates including staffing, tools, services, and field costs
• Guides in developing contingency risk ranges with valid explanations
• Inputs cost data into the historical cost databases.  Files completed estimates with all relevant back-up documentation yielding an easy-to-follow paper trail.
• Manages variations, trends, and changes to base estimate and ensures that implications of changes are evaluated before finalizing the solution.
• Assists in enhancements for estimating standards and procedures.
• Experience and self-motivation to lead, coach, and mentor junior estimators in team.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Engineering degree and 18+ years of Industry experience with 12+ years on job site with exposure towards developing cost estimates.
• Experience in parametric estimating techniques.
• Proficiency in any industry leading cost estimating software like Aspen, Candy, Heavy Bid, Timberline, Cleopatra, etc.
• Understands Stickbuilt vs Modular, Greenfield, and Brownfield Execution Scopes.
• Knowledge of indirect construction cost practices.
• Effective in utilizing metrics to provide valuable checks.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Proficiency in AI, Microsoft Copilot and Office applications (Word, Excel, Access. PowerPoint) is a must
• CAPEX EPC/EPCM estimating experience in any major streams like: Oil, Gas, LNG, Chemicals, Semiconductors, Manufacturing, Datacentres, Combined Cycle, Carbon Capture, Mining, Nuclear, Motorways, and Large Infrastructure (like Airports, Water storage etc),
• Bachelor’s Engineering degree with experience in latest estimating software.
• Familiar with commercial terms and conditions (contractor relationships, currency exchange, inflation, insurance, escalation, etc.) and with market pricing in area of specialization.
• Excellent communication skills to connect with others in project team
