Job Summary:

The Construction Coordinator (CC) will be responsible for the home office construction coordination and field coordination on power projects. Responsible to support project proposals, construction indirect planning, construction planning, constructability reviews, safety in design, value engineering, providing construction’s input to engineering and procurement teams aiming to improve Total Installed Cost (TIC) on the projects, inputs to maximizing modularization and preassemblies. Advise engineering of latest construction technology, local practices/preferences to optimize cost, schedule, and overall project delivery. Support construction management activities such as preconstruction planning, execution strategies on large industrial projects, process plants and various infrastructure projects.

The CC serves as a vital link between Construction and other project functions like Project Development, Engineering, Procurement, Contracts and Project Controls; the CC ensures that Construction requirements are communicated to the project team and project team receives Construction’s input in a timely manner.

Major Responsibilities:

Project 

  • Provides guidance on executing approved Constructability ideas and plans.   
  • Initiates the Constructability Program process and schedule, identifying construction related requirements to other functions in time to support their estimating efforts during project development/Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) phase.   
  • Participates and may lead construction related design decisions by providing Construction’s perspective to schedules, design deliverables, equipment purchases, degree of shop fabrication, and equipment delivery configuration and sequence.    
  • Maintains effective interface with Home office construction team, jobsite team ensuring construction’s requirements are communicated to Engineering team 
  • Leads and participates in 3D Model reviews, interdisciplinary coordination reviews of design drawings and ensures design is safe, constructible, and cost effective.   

Non-Project 

  • Assists with the development and delivery of Constructability awareness training and/or enterprise or project supervisory and technical training.  
  • Maintains and develops enterprise-wide processes and procedures 
  • Coordinates with projects to implement Quality Management System 
  • Sponsors and develops enterprise applications  
  • Assists in and may lead proposal efforts 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A recognized degree in mechanical/electrical engineering and a minimum 15 years of relevant experience, or 20 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven construction experience in combined cycle power projects
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with multiple nationalities.
  • leadership skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical knowledge of all phases of construction engineering relating to the discipline interfacing with all areas.
  • Prior experience working in a field engineering or field supervision position in an organization supporting direct-hire work /subcontract preferred.
  • Proficient in reading drawings, interpret design, specifications and industry standards and codes.
  • Prior experience in project early works, temporary construction facilities development, site set-up.
  • Prior experience with using tools and software related to Construction planning, proposals, execution, and monitoring preferred.
  • Ability to travel to domestic and international job sites on short-term or long-term assignments.
