Project Overview:
Bechtel Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) is an exciting and growing business that serves the increasing demand of EPC services for customers in the semiconductor (manufacturing facilities and supply chain); electric vehicle (batteries, charging infrastructure, and production); synthetic materials; and data center markets.

Job Summary:
In this role, you will participate in subcontract formation and/or administration. Subcontract formation includes leading preparation and review of bid request packages and developing project contracts operating procedures. Subcontract administration includes continual progress review, forecasting, and communication of difficulties. Your work will ensure subcontract compliance with project requirements. #LI-AM3
Major Responsibilities:
Subcontract Management
- Implements the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule which records the Project’s agreed assignment of various subcontract management tasks and the Standard Work Process Procedures applicable to Subcontract Management
- Manages assigned subcontracts maintaining a continual review of progress and providing management with information regarding projected financial or technical difficulties
- Coordinates with designated staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, subcontract performance, and other major matters
- Manage moderately complex contract changes by negotiating with customer personnel and obtaining settlement
Subcontract Formation
- Conforms and ensures subcontract execution
- Directs negotiation in the commitment of subcontracts
- Develops and issues subcontracts and services agreements as assigned
- Prepares bidders’ lists and pre-qualifies bidders
- Forms bid request packages and issues bid request packages to approved bidders
- Coordinates bidders’ questions and answers to those questions
- Receives bids and evaluates bids commercially
- Prepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendations
- Recommends and secures approvals in accordance with established procedures
- Prepares subcontract documents for execution
- Prepares and organizes assigned meetings, such as pre-bid, bid clarification and pre-award meetings, for the purpose of ensuring complete understanding and agreement between Bechtel, the customer and contractor on all contractual matters
- After reviewing plan and agenda with supervisor, conducts meeting and prepares and issues meeting notes delineating important statements, required actions and schedules
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in Subcontract Management on construction projects
- Experience and completion of courses in pricing, contract law, contract drafting, contract administration and negotiation, planning and scheduling.
- Skilled in negotiations for formation and post award changes.
- Knowledge of risk and insurance provisions, claim preparation, and resolution strategies in coordination with legal and claims teams.
- Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry subcontracting scopes of services and work practices.
- Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry execution, procedures and work practices.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations, policies and practices.
- Demonstrated oral , written and inter-personal communication skills.
- Experience in administering and interpreting contract types, fee arrangements and contract terms.
- Open to relocation
