Project Overview:

TROJENA (The Mountains of NEOM) will be an iconic, world-class destination, blending natural and developed landscapes and will offer unique experiences for residents and visitors alike. Located in the northwest of Saudi Arabia in the region of Tabuk just 50km from the coast, TROJENA will be a destination like no other on earth. Based upon the principles of eco-tourism facilities will include a folded vertical village, a lake with water sports and event facilities, high altitude ski village, observatory, world leading health and wellbeing facilities and a nature reserve which will be home to unique wildlife, heritage sites and exploration opportunities.

With over 3,600 hotel, 2,200 homes, 9 iconic buildings and 100 world class indoor and outdoor experiences Trojena will become the ultimate mountain destination. Bechtel will provide a full range of project management services to assist the delivery of this iconic destination.

Job Summary:

The Senior Project Manager responsibilities will include leading, managing and coordinating the Gateway Cluster, Vault Shell and Core Package through all phases of the project lifecycle. Including detailed design, procurement, construction, completion, and contract close-out phases of the Contract. Scope of work will involve detailed design and construction of significant reinforced concrete structures and structural steel, façade, roofing, architectural, mechanical, electrical, piping disciplines.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supervises assigned staff and provides for proper delegation of management authority, responsibility, and accountability
  • Ensures that project related problems are resolved promptly and that an integrated approach is followed in the performance of the project
  • Lead and coordinate with Contractor, engineers, client, and other Stakeholders
  • Engages with stakeholders at project level when required to improve underperformance
  • Proactively engages with their team’s development through CPM, Competency development/assessment and feedback
  • Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A recognized bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Civil /Structural or relevant Engineering discipline is preferred, or minimum 20 years of experience in construction.
  • Leading significant, complex, iconic building projects with extensive structural steel and unique façade and roofing systems at scale and pace.
  • Management of Contractor/ Suppliers including selection, coordination with design, fabrication, construction and close out phases such as:
    • Planning and delivering the detailed design phase and knowledge of the associated multi-disciplinary design interfaces.
    • knowledge of offsite and onsite manufacture and fabrication
    • Demonstrated understanding of complex construction methodologies

  • Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment, with a passion to take ownership of projects and provide sound technical leadership to contractor’s staff and field engineers
  • Ability to demonstrate skills to build long term trusted relationships through collaboration
