Project Overview:

TROJENA (The Mountains of NEOM) will be an iconic, world-class destination, blending natural and developed landscapes and will offer unique experiences for residents and visitors alike. Located in the northwest of Saudi Arabia in the region of Tabuk just 50km from the coast, TROJENA will be a destination like no other on earth. Based upon the principles of eco-tourism facilities will include a folded vertical village, a lake with water sports and event facilities, high altitude ski village, observatory, world leading health and wellbeing facilities and a nature reserve which will be home to unique wildlife, heritage sites and exploration opportunities.
With over 3,600 hotel, 2,200 homes, 9 iconic buildings and 100 world class indoor and outdoor experiences Trojena will become the ultimate mountain destination. Job Summary:

The Scaffolding Superintendent is responsible for the management of the scaffolding operations across a diverse set of projects in a remote location of NEOM. The work will be a combination of Project Management Consultant role and Construction Management.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Bechtel, local, and national safety codes for scaffolding activities carried out by contractors and subcontractors.
  • Promote a safety culture and culture of excellence within scaffolding works.
  • Develop Scaffolding Work procedures and oversee workforce and materials management to ensure contractors are executing according to schedule and project requirements.
  • Monitor contractor-determined workforce and material requirements for scaffolding operations, verifying adequacy and compliance.
  • Monitor work activities to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Participate in planning and management of personnel, equipment, contracting strategies, and procurement activities to support project deliverables.
  • Ensure all project rules, work practices, and procedures are being followed by contractors and subcontractors.
  • Monitor contractors’ and subcontractors’ activities to ensure compliance with rules, work practices, and schedules.
  • Support Project Controls in preparation of four-week schedules and budget monitoring.
  • Prepare construction schedules, methods, and procedures for scaffolding activities.
  • Supervise and direct subordinate personnel and craftsmen in construction activities within assigned areas.
  • Verify that contractors have prepared Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and that crafts have been provided the resources required to perform work efficiently.
  • Coordinate activities with other disciplines, areas, and clients’ representatives as instructed by construction management.
  • Ensure awareness of temporary works principles and the integration of scaffolding requirements within temporary works design and implementation

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years of directly related experience, such as civil field supervision, lead craft, or civil superintendent, with a focus on scaffolding (erection, modification, dismantling, and overall material and program management).

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of scaffold tracking systems and proven experience using metrics to manage scaffold programs heavy industrial projects.
  • Subject matter expert with regards to scaffolding, including associated safety regulations and requirements.
  • Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a team based environment.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Safety Program.
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and technical database applications.
  • Knowledge of local labor laws and issues.
