Bechtel Infrastructure is working in a Delivery Partner role within an integrated team with the customer organization for a Subway Project in Toronto, Ontario. The project scope includes the design build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being performed by three key PPP Contractors and multiple advanced early works (EAW) packages Contractors. Bechtel form a key component of the overall Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) team (comprising the customer, MX; the Technical Advisor, and Bechtel as the Delivery Partner).


Position Summary

The Technology Implementation Lead will work closely with the delivery teams to implement the technology, applications, and hardware required to deliver the project in a data-centric manner. The role is part of the Project Innovation and Information Management (PIIM) Team, which will be responsible for the creation, pilot, and deployment of digital tools and services that improve safety, quality, productivity, and IPD’s team experience. The Technology Implementation Lead will be responsible for maintaining a high field presence and connection with users and stakeholders to perform training, build awareness, support, troubleshoot, and collection of feedback of digital and innovation solutions deployed.



  • Liaise with all department leads to understand technology requirements.
  • Works with the IPD’s Project Innovation and Information Manager (PIIM) and Digital Delivery Manager (DDM) to ensure the application requirements are consistently deployed in the tools and technology.
  • Coordinating with IPD team to ensure information accessibility and security are set at the right level.
  • Setup and provide extensive application training for all new and existing employees on project (one on one and small groups).
  • Drafting, issuing, and maintaining user guides for the project tools, processes and solution being deployed.
  • Supporting all IPD personnel with application workflows enabling design management and construction management work processes, such as: daily reports, inspections, interface management, submittal reviews, claims, and other processes.
  • Troubleshoot problems with applications in a timely manner.
  • Re-training/implementing any changes made to the applications and-delivering them to the project.
  • Provide status on technology utilization.
  • Providing insights that link tool utilization to performance, as well as coaching for low performing/utilization areas.
  • Applying leadership skills to manage appropriate support to IPD team members. This includes proactive engagement and training, as wells as communicating and coaching the expectation and purpose behind use and application of the tool.
  • Digitalize work-processes for information that is shared by multiple stakeholders by capturing, integrating, visualizing, analyzing and reporting in a structured manner.
  • Working with the Senior Reporting Analyst to deliver data to dashboards
  • Contributing towards the goal of reducing data re-entry, single-pane-of-glass concept, paperless execution, efficient automated workflow, easy access to information by close interaction with reporting team.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities for input and output transaction pathways for individual applications and related integration (primavera, Aconex, Ecosys, My Safety, Petra-eGIS, other enterprise systems, Sword RAM, etc) either directly or through a Common Data Environment (CDE) by working together with the PIIM and DDM.
  • UAT testing of new tools and/or changes to existing tools.


Qualifications and Skills

  • University accredited degree (MS/BS/BA) degree in engineering, construction management, computer science, data science, or equivalent with 9+  years of experience in the AEC industry, or associate degree with 15+ years’ of AEC experience.
  • Preferred experience in major rail projects.
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Capacity and desire to learn automation and software application subject matter (Oracle/SQL queries, scripts, procedures, lookups, troubleshooting).
  • Experience deploying and managing tools in the field on construction sites.
  • Experience with Oracle Unifier, ACC//BIM360/ProjectWise and GIS preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and servant leadership style.
  • Ability to work autonomously within the Project role and interface with a wide cross section of project personnel.
  • Works in a fast-paced project environment with ability to respond to changing priorities from different levels of the organization.
