Project Overview:
Bechtel Infrastructure will work in a Delivery Partner role within an integrated team with the customer organization for a Subway Project in Toronto, Ontario. The project scope includes the design build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being performed by three key PPP Contractors and multiple advanced early works (EAW) packages Contractors. Bechtel form a key component of the overall Integrated Project Delivery team (comprising the customer, MX; the Technical Advisor, and Bechtel as the Delivery Partner).
Job Summary:
The Technology Implementation Lead will work closely with the delivery teams to implement the technology, applications, and hardware required to deliver the project in a data-centric manner. The role is part of the Project Information and Innovation Team, which will be responsible for the creation, pilot, and deployment of digital tools and services that improve safety, quality, productivity, and IPT team experience. The Technology Implementation Lead will be responsible for maintaining a high field presence and connection with users and stakeholders to perform training, build awareness, support, troubleshoot, and collection of feedback. #LI-JL1
Major Responsibilities:
- Liaise with all department leads to understand technology requirements.
- Work with the IPT Project Information & Innovation Manager (PIIM) to ensure the application requirements are consistently deployed in the tools and technology.
- Coordinating with teammates to ensure user accounts are correct.
- Setup and provide extensive application training for all new and existing employees on project (one on one and small groups).
- Drafting, issuing, and maintaining user guides for the project tools.
- Supporting all IPT personnel with applications for work processes, such as daily reports, inspections, submittal reviews, claims, assurance, construction processes, handover, and other processes.
- Troubleshoot problems with applications in a timely manner.
- Retraining/implementing any changes made to the applications and providing them to the project.
- Provide status on technology utilization.
- Providing insights that link tool utilization to performance, as well as coaching for low performing/utilization areas.
- Applying leadership skills to manage appropriate support to IPT team members. This includes proactive engagement and training, as wells as communicating and coaching the expectation and purpose behind use and application of the tool.
- Working with the reporting analysts and digital delivery teams to deliver data to dashboards.
- Contributing towards the goal of reducing data re-entry, single-pane-of-glass concept, paperless execution, efficient automated workflow, easy access to information by close interaction with reporting team.
- Identifying improvement opportunities for input and output transaction pathways for individual applications (Primavera Unifier, Ecosys, My Safety, other enterprise systems, Project Wise, ACC Forma etc) either directly or through a Common Data Environment (CDE) by working together with the PIIM.
- Developing functional documents, UAT testing of new tools and/or changes to existing tools.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience. Preferred degree in computer science, data science, and software.
- Experience in major rail projects.
- Experience in coordination and work process engagement with contractors.
- Experience, knowledge in implementing Master Data Management concepts and tools.
- Experience deploying and managing tools in the field on construction sites.
- Experience with Oracle Unifier, Project Wise, and GIS tools is preferred.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Advanced level knowledge of MS 365.
- Developing and documenting work process and guides.
- Capacity and desire to learn automation and software application subject matter (SQL queries, scripts, procedures, lookups, troubleshooting).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and servant leadership style.
- Ability to work autonomously within the project role and interface with a wide cross section of project personnel.
- Works in a fast-paced project environment with ability to respond to changing priorities from different levels of the organization.
