Bechtel Infrastructure will work in a Delivery Partner role within an integrated team with the customer organization for a Subway Project in Toronto, Ontario. The project scope includes the design-build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of the new alignment, being performed by three key PPP Contractors and five advanced early works (EAW) packages Contractors. Bechtel forms the key component of the overall leadership team, having delivery partner responsibilities supported by two other components, Technical Advisor (TA) and Program Controls Services Consultant (PCSC).

 

The Interface Management Coordinator for the Project is responsible for coordinating all elements concerning Requirements and Rail Standards to ensure consistent specification and subsequent achievement of design and construction and commissioning integrity is achieved throughout the multiple PPP Contractors and EAW Contractors.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Integration Manager on all interface-related issues between Project Cos, TAs, Customer and other vendors and on all projects.
  • Support the development of the Interface Management Plan for the project and ensures the process is followed by all.
  • Leading the development of the Program PDM and Interface Matrix.
  • Lead the effort to compile a complete list of interfaces and track the development (integration) across the PPP and EAW Contractors.
  • Implementing and tracking the usage of interface management processes and procedures by the team.
  • Support in the facilitation of interface meetings and governance calendar including tracking of milestone dates for relevant meetings.
  • Facilitate the resolution of any cross-boundary interface issues to meet the requirements of the project.
  • Gather and assess information to ensure that Early Works and other schedules are correlated and reconciled with Project Co submission.
  • Assist in determining construction interfaces of non-PPP packages with the future PPP packages to ensure that interfaces comply with PPP output specifications.
  • Support the development of mitigation and/or incentives to reduce risks associated with the utility and construction interfaces.
  • In collaboration with the rest of the project team, provide advice on contract management and interface issues.
  • Ensure the traceability and recording of interface agreements and changes including the creation of Interface Control Documents for each interface.
  • Review project schedules for consideration of interface requirements so that deliverables are provided in a timely manner across the program.
  • Review status reports from vendors and address issues with program or portfolio impacts as appropriate.
  • Create, maintain and constantly attempt to improve project development, interfacing and implementation processes.
  • Work with the TA to tie together the IDR process, constructability and commissioning processes.
  • Close liaison with the DP Technology & Systems Manager, Production Manager and PIIM regarding the use of our PDM tool.
  • Creation, maintenance and dashboard reporting of the status of Interfaces to be tracked, validated and verified across the Project.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and a minimum of 13 years of experience working in the rail industry and/or large-scale infrastructure projects or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Successful Interface Management track record on a major multidisciplinary rail project.
  • Demonstrated technical writing, data management, verbal communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
  • A firm understanding of rail engineering procedures, principles, and concepts.
  • Experience working with teams and stakeholders in the development and delivery of large infrastructure projects. Ability to communicate across technical disciplines (engineering, construction, operations, maintenance).
  • Knowledgeable in planning and executing high-value, multi-faceted lump-sum turnkey civil infrastructure projects.
  • Computer skills (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Must have the right to work and remain in Canada without visa sponsorship.
