Project Overview:
Bechtel is seeking to recruit high quality project delivery professionals in Engineering, Construction, Project Controls and related disciplines to join our team in Canada.
Bechtel is currently growing our team working on a variety of new transportation and infrastructure projects in the Provinces of Quebec and Ontario, Canada. Candidates are currently being sought in both Montreal, Quebec and Toronto, Ontario.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead a team and manage project cost estimating, analysis, and control activities. You will identify cost trends for management attention, support project organizational and administrative activities, and ensure work is completed as scheduled. Your data analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges, and your leadership will be essential to project success.

Major Responsibilities:
- Manages cost analysis, and control activities
- Prepares and presents cost engineering information to management/clients
- Creates and implements measurement systems for established processes, analyzes performance metric results, and identifies improvements
- Uses tools to analyze metrics and measurement systems to identify bias, repeatability, and stability issues
- Provide best practice Project Controls expertise and service across the program incorporating cost management.
- Ensure the right level of resources are maintained for optimum delivery.
- Oversee the ongoing development and maintenance of an effective Change Management and Trend Program.
- Identifies cost trends for management attention
- Drive a positive, persuaded culture within the scheduling team and ensure they are invested in managing and improving scheduling performance.
- Analyzes data to provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in delivering large-scale urban railway projects. Experiences typically include planning for construction through rural and urban locations, along active freight lines, bridge construction over navigable waterways, upgrading track and building or rehabilitating bridges, station stops, storage yards, and maintenance shops.
- Significant experience of leading, managing and organizing teams.
- Experience in leading a team of diverse backgrounds and experience towards a single project outcome.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, motivating and supporting others.
- Demonstrated expert understanding of project controls core processes and procedures including, cost control, planning, risk analysis, estimating, trend reporting and information management.
- Technical and practical comprehension of engineering procurement, and construction functions and general business techniques.
- Knowledge of commercial terms and conditions such as currency exchange impacts and hedging arrangements.
- Excellent skill in oral and written communication with demonstrated skill to present estimating information to management and client.
- Bilingual in French and English is preferred.
- Should be proficient in both written and conversational English to work closely in collaboration with other Team members of Bechtel and stakeholders in other locations including Ontario, the United States and the United Kingdom.
