Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Programmes Planner will report to the Project Controls Manager and will fill a key role interfacing with project management, be a leader within project controls, and be a main interface with the various groups, engineering, construction, contracts, procurement, on the project. The ideal candidate will be a professional planner capable of leading the implementation of scheduling.

Manage integration of engineering, procurement, construction and start-up planning and scheduling efforts and planning and schedule development with all activity sequences and logics with the total project plan. Execute analysis and reporting efforts for the project. Using Primavera 6, utilize resource loading and leveling capabilities of, produce standard and custom schedules and charts, and exports and import data between Primavera 6 and other databases. The detailed execution schedules include resource utilization plans, progress tracking systems.

Lead planning and coordinating schedule interfaces with the client, vendors and contractors and provide guidance by understanding the complete project scope, project schedule objectives as well as supporting and maintaining a plan and schedule to accomplish the same goal. Continually monitors critical and near critical path work and identifies issues for mitigation. Proactively assesses progress, completion forecasts and provides solutions to mitigate schedule delays or to optimize project completion.

Manage key stakeholder relationships to influence project and achieve results in the project’s best interest. This includes the ability to prepare and give presentations to management, the client or others as required.

The successful candidate will possess strong oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills, be able to interact closely and frequently with client management and contractors while maintaining necessary levels of commercial awareness.

Basic Qualifications

  • A recognized degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience with Planning and Scheduling.
  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in Project Controls or Commercial Operations experience is desirable.
  • A thorough understanding of capability to schedule complex engineering and construction projects.
  • Recent aptitude at an expert level of P6, Excel, and Access.
  • Experience on the construction of an airport, large infrastructure or similar projects.
  • Proven ability to lead independently on complex project controls issues with superior interpersonal skills, creative solution and problem-solving skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 15 years project controls experience in large complex construction projects.
