Job Summary:

The Nuclear Power Supply Chain Manager leads the overall supply chain strategy and execution for a nuclear power project within an engineering, procurement and construction environment. This role is responsible for planning, sourcing, supplier and subcontractor performance, material management, logistics, risk mitigation, and compliance across the supply chain lifecycle to support safe, timely, and cost-effective project delivery. This role also includes timely staffing, communication, KPI monitoring and reporting, risk identification, mitigation and resolution. 

 

Responsible for close collaboration with engineering, project management, construction, project controls, quality, customers and the entire supply chain to ensure material, equipment, and services, including nuclear grade, are available in accordance with project requirements, regulatory obligations, and schedule commitments. The Nuclear Power Supply Chain Manager drives supplier and subcontractor accountability, strengthens supply continuity, and supports long-term supply chain resilience for critical project needs.  

 

Responsible for supervision of supply chain specialists, material managers, field professionals, buyers, expediters, logistics specialists, subcontract administrators and data automation professionals. Reports to the Project Manager and receives guidance from the functional Manager of Supply Chain.  

Major Responsibilities:

  • Plans and develops Supply Chain operations for a major project to include defining and developing the execution strategy, scope of work, and coordinating the preparation of plans, procedures, schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets.  
  • Identifies opportunities for revenue enhancement, schedule relief and claim avoidance, and takes appropriate actions to protect Bechtel's interest and/or improve performance.  
  • Ensures the monitoring of safety, quality, cost, and performance and that contractual duties and obligations are met by all parties to each purchase order and subcontract.  
  • Establishes and implements procurement and/or subcontract formation, administration, delivery, and quality programs, and ensures compliance to applicable Bechtel policies and procedures. 
  • Develops and implements the Supply Chain staffing plan and facilitates training, technical guidance, and development to Supply Chain staff. 
  • Provides for adherence to risk and insurance provisions and coordinates with Risk Management on any supply chain related incidents covered by Customer or Bechtel provided insurance. 
  • Directs or leads the efforts to negotiate and resolve Supply Chain related claims in coordination with the Claims Group and Legal Department. 
  • Executes the project or regional office Supply Chain plan, researches and prepares strategic recommendations for contracting major material, equipment, and services, taking into consideration legal, commercial, and financial factors. 
  • Participates in the development of Project Proposals, sourcing strategies, Supply Chain Execution Plans, and development of qualified Bidders lists. 
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the Business Unit and/or Company. 
  • Participates in development of Business Unit or Corporate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. 
  • Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements. 
  • Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior management regarding matters of significance to the organization. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Typically requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience. 

  • Must be able to comply with the DOE’s regulation 10 CFR Part 810 citizenship requirements 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience managing supply chain on a large EPC project.  
  • Knowledge of ASME NQA-1 Materials (or international equivalent) is strongly preferred 
  • Ability to develop, present, and implement complex proposals. Practical experience preferred in both field and home office. 
  • Knowledge of the phases of project scoping, planning, and execution  
  • Experience in supply chain, procurement, materials management, and project procurement within EPC, industrial, energy, or other highly regulated environments 
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes including sourcing, expediting, logistics, material planning, and supplier performance management 
  • Experience managing suppliers, schedules, and supply risks across multiple workstreams 
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills 
  • Experience leading teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders 
  • Preferred familiarity with nuclear power codes, standards, quality assurance expectations, and traceability requirements
