Project Overview:

The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S.

The Kilby CCGT project is of significant scale and complexity, and our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery this year.

We're seeking experienced candidates for the Superintendent - Indirects position on the upcoming Kilby project in Pecos, TX. The candidate will mobilize directly to the field on a long-term (camp) assignment to Pecos, Texas. This position is contingent upon project award.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets. #LI-SP1

Major Responsibilities:

Leadership/Supervision 

  • Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned. 
  • Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
  • Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.

Planning/Productivity

  • Determines workforce requirements.
  • Coordinates established area operational plans. 
  • Coordinates activities with other disciplines or areas and clients’ resident representatives, as instructed by construction management.

Safety/Quality

  • Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation. 
  • Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. 
  • Ensures the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations. 

Technical

  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
  • Oversees engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelors degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in Combined Cycle and/or Light Duty Gas Turbines/Aeroderivative projects are preferred.
  • Experience managing projects executed under direct hire open shop craft professionals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction engineering practices related to all disciplines.
  • Coordinates the Construction Completion Walkdowns and supervises the close out of all punch list items.
  • Ensures competent and practical adherence to the Bechtel standards and lessons learned.
  • Identifies potential back charges and out-of-scope issues and reports to management. Supports commercial recovery process.
  • Able to work extended work schedules as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in establishing a high-performing team.
  • Experience managing distrirbutables/indirects for project.
