Our technology teams collaborate with their worldwide colleagues, vendors and partners every day to take on the challenges of providing IT support to one of the world’s leading EPC companies.  The Bechtel Equipment Operations Information Technology group provides enterprise-wide support and solutions for all of Bechtel's Construction Fleet Operations. Technology provides strategic and procedural support in all specialized disciplines, such as fleet maintenance operations, rental and leases operations, telematics, fuel management, drone operations and Big Data BI Reporting.


The primary purpose of the position is to provide configuration and development support for the Enterprise Asset Management System, built on Infor EAM.  The position will also entail development support on the data management, and reporting activities of the Equipment DataMart database.


The system support team needs a strong database developer with good business analysis skills and prior development experience. The developer should be able to create efficient data models, stored procedures, packages, and other database structures in support of data processing and BI reporting needs. The position would require working closely with IT team and stakeholders to understand data needs, analyze issues and provide appropriate solution.

Successful candidates should have a solid work ethic, be self-driven and be able to work with minimum supervision.



  • Provide Tier 2 production support for existing systems, troubleshoot data and/or system issues
  • Provide the operational and maintenance support for the Construction Fleet Datamart Solution
  • Identify root causes and resolve data related issues
  • Develop new and/or optimize queries for performance in reports, data grids and SQL views
  • Develop and support data conversion and integration solutions
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree, or 9 years of IT experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Five or more years of experience with SQL development tools (Oracle SQL Developer, Microsoft SQL, Toad)
  • Five or more years of experience in one or more structured programming languages (C#, PL/SQL, Java)
  • Five or more years of experience developing dataview, packages and procedures to Oracle or other SQL-based databases
  • Five or more years of experience working with XML, HTML, JSON
  • Three or more years of experience of web services


Other Qualifications

  • Experience working in controlled development, testing and production environments
  • Experience in Data Modeling, PL/SQL stored procedures, PL/SQL packages and views
  • Experience writing SQL reports in SSRS/Cognos/Power BI
  • Experience with creating\consuming web Services and REST API's
  • Familiarity with standard development toolkits including source repositories (TFS\Azure DevOps), Visual Studio
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Sencha Ext JS/JavaScript
  • Knowledge of mobile development (iOS and Android)
  • Sound understanding of RDBMS
  • Strong database troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Knowledge of software development Lifecyle
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills
  • Aptitude for debugging problems in complex, unfamiliar code
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Solid work ethic, self-driven with the ability to work with minimal supervision


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with databases, primarily oracle
  • Experience with Infor EAM configuration, specifically development experience creating DataSpy, Grids, KPI's, Extensibility framework
  • Experience with Infor EAM Alert management, Databridge, ION
  • Experience with automation tools
  • Knowledge of data integration patterns
