Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and updating geospatial strategies, providing field and technical support for laser scanning and metrology surveys, and overseeing the execution of related tasks. You will also manage large datasets, ensure the calibration of instruments, and produce deliverables. Your expertise and recommendations will be crucial in ensuring that scanning and metrology deliver safe, high-quality, and precise work within the specified schedule and budget. #LI-TH1           

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensures team’s implementation of the project safety, quality, and environmental programs
  • Ensures housekeeping and cleanliness of the project
  • Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely
  • Ensures work methods planned and executed safely
  • Develops Job Hazard Analysis and updates it as needed, or requirements change
  • Oversees Survey calculations and Survey Reports for all project disciplines/scope
  • Implements Field and office training program
  • Ensure documentation is readily accessible during inspections or audits
  • Ensures measuring and test equipment (M&TE) Survey Equipment is in compliance with SWPP
  • Initiates requisition for software, survey equipment and consumables
  • Provides applicable Survey software and training
  • Ensures compliance with ES&H CPs
  • Ensures that scheduling concerns and constraints are identified and elevated to the management team
  • Leads hire and subcontract representatives on Survey construction activities
  • Tracks Survey progress and provides input to project schedules and cost reports

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

 

Required Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
  • Implements and maintain Survey Control Network operation
  • Leads and schedules field and office personnel
  • Leads and schedules field activities with project supervision and Field Engineering
  • Leads the safe execution of Survey activities in accordance with applicable SWPPs required for construction (reality capture, metrology, LiDAR scanning.)
  • Ensures compliance with contract documents.
  • Supports project Survey execution plan
  • Utilizes and leverages applicable automation software and processes
  • Understands and ensures compliance with Industry / International Codes & Standards
  • Provides technical administration and supervision of assigned task
  • Provides technical guidance to construction engineers, superintendents, and craft professionals on technology requirements
  • Responsible for working with project teams to ensure training programs are properly set up and being executed by qualified personnel
  • Coaches project personnel during field assessments and observations, ensuring best practices are being utilized
  • Conducts assessments and provides reports to project supervision/leadership
  • Excellent domain of Scanning technology field and office processes
  • Excellent domain of Metrology technology field and office processes
  • Excellent domain at technical writing to develop processes and procedures
