Job Summary:

In this role, you will coordinate and update survey strategy, provide technical support for laser scanning and meteorology surveys, and oversee survey computer aided design (CAD) drawings, instrument calibration, subcontractor survey work, and project drone operations. Your recommendations will ensure drone flight safety and high quality, accurate work delivered within schedule and budget #LI-TH1 

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supports the survey team’s implementation of the project safety, quality, and environmental programs
  • Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely
  • Ensures work methods planned and executed safely
  • Draws field sketches and As-built drawings
  • Prepares Survey calculations and Survey Reports for all project disciplines/scope
  •  Supports Field and office training program
  • Prepares daily progress reports, periodic photographic progress reports and keeps supervisor informed on progress of assigned tasks
  • Utilizes and leverages applicable software and processes
  • Coordinates and maintains Survey Work Request
  • Develops core understanding of ES&H CPs
  • Supports Importing and exporting survey data
  • Maintain Layer Management and CAD Standards
  • Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
  • Supports in creating survey CAD drawings, including topographic features such as breaklines, spot elevations, and contours, as well as generating Digital Terrain Models (DTMs) and performing volume computations  

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Examines the accuracy of Field data and collection methods process
  • Prepares Survey Reports for all project disciplines/scope 
  • Supports Survey Control Network operations (TS, Level Loops, GNSS)
  • Demonstrates full knowledge of field Survey operations
  • Maintains part 107 certification and Maintains part 107 certification and conducts safe and compliant UAS operations, adheres to pilot checklists, and facilitates the acquisition of photogrammetry or LiDAR datasets.
  • Performs post-flight processing and quality assurance of imagery and photogrammetric data, ensuring accuracy and completeness of deliverables prior to submission to Engineering.
  • Supports UAS data management workflows, including uploading datasets to the Propeller platform, maintaining detailed flight logs, and coordinating LAANC airspace authorizations
  • Conducts high-accuracy 3D data acquisition using terrestrial and handheld laser scanners, following metrology best practices for instrument setup, target acquisition, and point cloud integrity.
  • UAS Field drone experience
  • Prior Survey Field and office experience
  • Terrestrial laser Scanning experience (preferred)
  • Required software experience (Civil3D, Trimble Business Center or equivalent)
