Project Overview:

The Bechtel Renewables team has been contracted to deliver the project management, engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and testing services for a utility-scale PV solar and battery energy storage project, located in Tom Green and Schleicher Counties, Texas, approximately 23 miles southwest of San Angelo. When completed, the project will generate up to 552 MWdc of power from approximately 850,000 highly efficient bifacial solar modules. The project is currently working under a Limited Notice to Proceed and expects to receive its Final Notice to Proceed in early to mid-2026. This position is contingent upon that final award.

Job Summary:

As a Project Accountant (Field and Craft Certified Payroll/ Craft Labor Tracking), you will provide professional Financial & Accounting support services. You will review contracts, perform audits, and review statements. You will assist with monthly reviews, data validation, GM reporting, special studies, presentations, and preparations. Your efforts will help ensure Financial & Accounting compliance and contribute to issue resolution and process improvements. #LI-AM3

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides and assists with professional accounting support services. 
  • Extracts and performs preliminary analysis of technical data and may participate in preparing reports, charts and studies related to financial or project accounting issues. 
  • Works with transactional groups (e.g., Accounts Payable and Receivables and Client billings) to ensure project is producing invoices as per contractual terms.
  • Review the accounts payable on hold report with procurement and work with vendors and the AP team to resolve issues in a timely manner. 
  • Assists with audit queries (internal and external). 
  • Supports cross functional work with project organizations to ensure accuracy of financial information. 
  • Supervise Timekeeping team including the set up and running of the timekeeping systems Working closely with the payroll department and addressing the interface with timekeeping .

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Timekeeping experience  
  • Project accounting knowledge including experience with Oracle Ability to communicate across multiple departments and across multiple employee disciplines
