Project Overview:

Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company will provide executive project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial, and construction management) for the development of certain defined aspects of the NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt, and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,50 km2 (10,200 sq. mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.” NEOM will be the home and workplace to more than a million residents from around the world. It will include towns and cities, ports and enterprise zones, research centers, sports and entertainment venues, and tourist destinations. As a hub for innovation, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and companies will come to research, incubate, and commercialize new technologies and enterprises in groundbreaking ways.
 

Job Summary:

The Senior ES&H position is pivotal in assisting with the implementation and maintenance of Bechtel's Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) programs. In a client role, assurance is paramount. Responsibilities include ensuring stringent compliance with standards, meticulously maintaining databases, conducting thorough risk assessments, preparing comprehensive reports, and recommending robust improvements to minimize hazards. #LI-AR2
 

Major Responsibilities:

• Provides assistance in a wide variety of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) disciplines to facilitate implementation of Bechtel's ES&H program and ES&H Management System to include aiding in compliance with Customer’s ES&H standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments 
• Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary for the safety and health of employees and protection of the environment and communities 
• Maintains ES&H databases, inclusive of incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions 
• Performs data analysis to help identify performance trends and contributing factors as part of continuous improvement 
• Helps identify and coordinate any unique software systems used by ES&H personnel 
• Assures contractors are conducting risk assessment, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring in response to moderately complex ES&H issues 
• Prepares communications, writes reports, and prepares documents for program execution and records retention 
• Assists contractors with incident notifications, investigations, and reporting 
• Recommends improvements in processes, procedures, and work activities to minimize hazard potential 
• Provides support to ES&H field and office personnel, inclusive of all ES&H disciplines 
• Conducting inspections and audits on Contractors works to assess their compliance
• Suspend any unsafe work and escalate the issues as necessary

Education and Experience Requirements:

• 10 years of experience with bachelor’s degree in relevant subjects 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Large or Mega project experience in ESH
• Holding NEBOSH certificate or equivalent
• Having PMC or Client experience is a plus
• Good communicator
• Very good auditing and inspection skills
