Project Overview:

Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company will provide executive project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial, and construction management) for the development of certain defined aspects of the NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.   NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt, and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,50 km2 (10,200 sq. mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.

 NEOM will be the home and workplace to more than a million residents from around the world. It will include towns and cities, ports and enterprise zones, research centers, sports and entertainment venues, and tourist destinations. As a hub for innovation, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and companies will come to research, incubate, and commercialize new technologies and enterprises in groundbreaking ways.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will work within a high-performance team helping to develop and manage complex Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) project programs. You will assist the Project Sector ESH Manager to ensure requirements are properly integrated. Your leadership will help achieve ES&H performance expectations, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Major Responsibilities:

• Support the Project sector ESH Manager to supervises EHS personnel and facilitate their development through assignments, coaching, and mentoring.
• Oversees and assures that ESH requirements are properly interpreted by projects and other functions and training for all three ESH disciplines (including medical).
• Supports the Project Sector ESH Manager to sustain the ESH Management System and assures it continually improves EHS program execution.
• Evaluates and applies appropriate ESH principles, and develops suitable plans and methods in compliance with global ESH requirements.
• Oversees and reviews implementation of Bechtel’s ESH Policy, Management System, and standards.
• Confirms ESH emergency preparedness planning and the adequacy of incident investigation and resolution.
• Conducts audits to confirm ESH compliance with contractual commitments, laws and regulations, environmental permit requirements, and Bechtel standards.
• Confirms that environmental regulatory submittals, documentation, and actions are completed as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or international equivalent) related to environmental, safety, health or science-related discipline and 10+ years of relevant experience. Be a member of IOSH or equivalent professional body.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Leadership skills to enable a team to be successful - coach, mentor, participate, direct Professional skill set to deliver quality outputs of an ESH program high level of written and verbal communication attributes that openly display ESH as a personal value. Possess the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, targets and objectives Knowledge of safety in design (desirable)
