NEOM Project Summary: Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company will provide executive project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial, and construction management) for the development of certain defined aspects of the NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”    

 

NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of EgyptIsrael, and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq. mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.”  

 

NEOM will be the home and workplace to more than a million residents from around the world. It will include towns and cities, ports and enterprise zones, research centers, sports and entertainment venues, and tourist destinations. As a hub for innovation, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and companies will come to research, incubate, and commercialize new technologies and enterprises in groundbreaking ways.

 

Note: This position is seconded in to the client organization; working in NEOM Project Controls Dept.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement an effective and integrated system of risk management strategy: plan, processes, procedures, work instructions, etc. in line with international best practice and standards.
  • Maintain Risk and Opportunities statistics, monitor and report on Risk Management system effectiveness at both Portfolio and Program level.
  • Support and monitor the implementation of the Risk function across NEOM Projects.
  • Facilitate and support risk and opportunity workshops across the Portfolio as requested by the Project Controls Director.
  • Facilitate “NEOM Only” risk workshops and advise on schedule/cost risk analysis.
  • Consolidate risks from Project level to Program & Portfolio level for overall review & reporting.
  • Report Risk Metrics and graphical displays including dashboards to NEOM Project Management.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills with multiple levels of Management
  • Team player with ability to lead a multinational, multi-dimensional organization
  • English proficiency
  • High level of energy
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in risk management.
  • Experience with holistic approach of risk management on Portfolio and/or Program level.
  • Experience and knowledge of all disciplines risks during all Project stages from feasibility till handover e.g. procurement/contractual, QHSE, reputational Risks, etc.
  • Proficiency with industry standard software for risk management / analysis programs.
  • Excellent English language communication skills.

 

Qualifications:

  • Masters’ Degree in Engineering, Construction or Management (preferred)
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, Construction or Management (minimum)
  • Knowledge of International Risk Standards e.g. ISO31000, PMBok, COSO, etc and associated standards e.g. ISO 9001, ISO45001, ISO14000, etc.
  • Minimum 13 years professional experience in project controls with emphasis on risk management.  In lieu of degree, 19 years of related work experience required.
