Project Overview:

Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company will provide executive project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial, and construction management) for the development of certain defined aspects of the NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt, and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,50 km2 (10,200 sq. mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea. NEOM will be the home and workplace to more than a million residents from around the world. It will include towns and cities, ports and enterprise zones, research centers, sports and entertainment venues, and tourist destinations. As a hub for innovation, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and companies will come to research, incubate, and commercialize new technologies and enterprises in groundbreaking ways. 
 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a high-performance team to develop and manage complex Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) project programs. You will assist functional leads to ensure requirements are properly integrated and be responsible for overall project ES&H execution. Your leadership will help achieve ES&H performance expectations, compliance, and continuous improvement. #LI-AR2

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supports execution of the safety component of an ESH Program inclusive of technical and administrative aspects. 
  • Assists development and implementation of Safety and Health Management Plans, associated plans and procedures, and training program. 
  • Assists the integration of safety and health requirements into planning, design, construction, commissioning, and operations. 
  • Interprets safety and health requirements and provides guidance on related tasks for program execution. 
  • Researches issues and regulatory requirements and prepares documentation and reports. 
  • Provides assistance for safety studies, risk assessments, and other safety and health reviews. 
  • Participates in emergency response and aids incident investigation and resolution. 
  • Assists in identifying stakeholders and resolving their concerns. 
  • Participates in meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.  
  • Conducts ESH inspections and monitoring to help identify hazards and risks, the effectiveness of controls, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and Bechtel requirements. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree of Science in a specialized scientific field (e.g., safety, industrial engineering, public health) or process/mechanical engineering and/or some practical work experience in the discipline performing the responsibilities listed above. Require 5 years of relevant experience.
     

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Specialized knowledge in a safety specialty (e.g., Personal Protective Equipment, lockout/tagout, fall protection, excavation, People Based Safety) or engineering (e.g., civil, process safety, mechanical) or related disciplines.
  • Knowledge of safety and health laws and regulations and applicable agencies permitting processes and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of safety management, monitoring programs, principles, and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of engineering, construction, and subcontract work processes.
  • Experience in safety compliance inspection/assessment during construction.
  • Skilled in English oral and written communication and knowledge of computer applications.  
  • Valid KSA driving license is required.
