Project Overview:
NEOM Project Summary: Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company will provide executive project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial, and construction management) for the development of certain defined aspects of the NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt, Israel, and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq. mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.
Job Summary:
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the Engineering Department, you will be required to combine your technical experience and knowledge for the management of Electrical Engineering design, including the design of Low Voltage and Extra Low Voltage systems by the Client’s design consultants and contractors. You will be required to support the Engineering Manager in managing and delivering the Electrical design in accordance with the applicable codes and standards and the Client’s requirements.
You will also be required to develop contractually and technically robust Scope of Work documents for projects, support tendering and procurement of work packages, constructively critique designs developed by others, plan and control Engineering progress, and deliver Engineering through to the overall completion and the handover to the Client.
Major Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, manage and monitor the review of Electrical design deliverables produced by the Client’s design consultant and contractors
- Reviewing the submitted designs from the Client’s designers and contractors for quality and compliance with the Client’s requirements, design guidelines, statutory requirements, local and international codes, and standards
- Ensure the buildability of the proposed Electrical design and suitability of materials
- Providing feedback to the Engineering Manager regarding progress, key issues and risk
- Coordinate Engineering efforts in area of specialty [Electrical Engineering] and other Engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, and contractors
- Coordinate and visit the jobsite as required, to resolve problems, interpret drawings and documents, initiate Field Change Notices, and provide technical support during the Construction phase
- Prepare Scope of Works documents for different Work Packages
- Respond to technical queries and technical submittals to ensure compliance with design intent
- Take an active role in the Client’s Stage Review and Approval Procedure
- Chair discipline specific meetings, recording actions
- Work in other disciplines as required by Engineering Manager
- Report progress, critical issues and risk to Engineering Manager
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Electrical Engineering Degree [Bachelors] from an accredited university with 5+ years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering
- Experience in managing the design/installation/operation/maintenance of Electrical and Low Voltage / Extra Low Voltage work for infrastructure facilities/assets
- Knowledge of Solar Energy installations including Battery Storage
- Experience in both design-build and design-bid-build forms of procurement with contractors and consultants
- Experience in field construction and inspection of Electrical Works
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards pertinent to the Electrical Engineering
- Thorough knowledge of Electrical Engineering techniques
- Knowledge of EDMS systems
- Knowledge of current computer applications for engineering and design including appropriate knowledge of CAD (both 2-D and 3-D) e.g. AutoCAD, MS Word and Excel for managing design reviews
- Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices and the economics involved
- Proven track record of coordinating and delivering large scale projects
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills (oral and written)
- Proactive, supportive, inquisitive, challenging and result driven
- Hard working and motivated with high self-initiative
- University degree in related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in similar roles
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, changing priorities and work with ambiguity
- Willingness to help others and receive help from others in achieving goals
- Willingness to relocate to the site in Sharma, KSA
