Project Overview:
Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company is providing Project Management Consultancy services (including technical, commercial, and construction management) for the development of certain defined aspects of the NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” NEOM is a planned city in the Tabuk Province of north-western Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt, Israel, and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.
NEOM will be the home and workplace to more than a million residents from around the world. It will include towns and cities, ports and enterprise zones, research centres, sports and entertainment venues, and tourist destinations. As a hub for innovation, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and companies will come to research, incubate, and commercialize new technologies and enterprises in ground-breaking ways.
Job Summary:
The Construction Manager provides day to day oversight and direction for Owner to the PMC and their Contractors. He or she is responsible for protecting and promoting the interests and values of the Owner project delivery team in all matters. Primarily to oversee the safe and efficient delivery whilst maintaining effective relationships when interfacing with stakeholders. To be answerable to provide construction services advice and guidance to the PMC and Contractor construction teams, to deliver the highest standard of product.
Major Responsibilities:
- Reporting to Owner Project Director and senior management
- Overseeing the PMC and Contractor construction schedules, methods, manning and equipment.
- Oversees PMC and Contractor activities to ensure effective delivery of the works.
- Monitors PMC and Contractor implementation of Zero incident philosophy across all sites.
- Monitors that Quality objectives & procedural requirements are met by PMC and Contractor.
- Monitors and guides relations between PMC and Contractor Management to the benefit of the project.
- Ensures that PMC and Contractor labour and staff relations are managed in accordance with NEOM standards.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Construction trades background.
- Experience of supervision of large Infrastructure Construction including Marine Works and Marine logistics.
- Minimum 20 years career experience 15 years’ experience on large infrastructure projects
- Relevant experience in dealing with Owner, PMC and Contractor relationship on a day to day basis.
- Comprehensive understanding of environmental, safety and health regulations and their implementation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including highly effective verbal communication.
- Ability to fluently communicate at all levels.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Candidates are requested to have some or all the following experience and knowledge:
Marine equipment and their capabilities, such as:
- Multicats,
- Landing Crafts,
- Flat Top barges,
- Tugs,
- Crew Transfer Vessels,
- Crane Barges
Installation of subsea structures, such as:
- Subsea cables and pipelines
- Jacket structures
- Marine piling
- Marine coordination and prioritization of deliveries on a Construction Project.
- Working in remote and logistically challenging locations.
