Job Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading the financial strategy, planning, risk management, and overall financial health of the organization. The CFO will provide strategic financial leadership aligned with UAE regulatory requirements, corporate governance standards, and best international practices. He or she will also support the establishment and continuous improvement of company policies and oversee the institutionalization of compliance programs. Oversight of compliance extends to requirements imposed by the association and obligations of the respective JV partner ownership.
The CFO has ultimate responsibility for the accuracy of financial statements (IFRS and tax compliance), the oversight of the accounting, IT, purchase, logistics and administration departments as well as for the implementation of internal controls.
KPIs will be measured in terms of Revenue Growth & Profitability Ratios, Compliance & Audit Outcomes, Budget Accuracy & Forecast Variance, Cost Control & Efficiency Improvements.
Supervision
Reports to and receives operational direction from USF (Unger Steel Fabrication) Managing Director.
Directly supervises and provides operational direction to Purchasing Manager, Logistics Manager, IT Manager, Finance Manager, Administration Manager.
Major Responsibilities:
Key activities are not limited to only the activities in this function. The CFO plays a vital role for managing planning, auditing and reporting. He or she is also monitoring the compliance standards, making decisions, and taking on responsibilities to improve the company.
- Oversight of operational functions to ensure they are performed according to the policies, procedures and the compliance guidelines.
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Lead long-term financial forecasting and capital structure planning.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance metrics.
- Optimize capital structure and financing strategies.
- Oversee investment management and funding requirements.
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
- Ensure compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority regulations, including Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing and VAT.
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, regulators, and financial institutions.
- Establish strong internal controls and governance frameworks.
- Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure adequate insurance and financial risk coverage.
- Lead and develop the finance team to ensure high performance.
- Establish KPIs and performance standards.
- Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all personnel follow company ESH guidelines and that all QHSE aspects are properly implemented.
- Participation in the Management Safety Walk.
- Being an Unger ambassador within the Bechtel organization.
Education and Experience Requirements:
The role requires strong commercial acumen, regulatory expertise within the UAE, and the ability to drive sustainable growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Professional certification required (CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA or equivalent).
- Minimum 10–15 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
- At least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role (CFO / Finance Director level).
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience within the UAE or GCC market
- Strong knowledge of UAE financial regulations, Corporate Tax, Transfer pricing, VAT, and IFRS.
- Adherence to the highest Ethical Standards & Integrity
