Project Overview:

Bechtel is pursuing a significant new award of work in Egypt. The Project will cover the development of luxurious residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, tourism amenities, and economic zones. If successful, Bechtel’s contract for the delivery of this project will be for project management and construction management services.

Job Summary:

This Senior Risk Manager role is a senior role responsible for managing the project risk management program on this exciting project. Responsible for guidance, support, and SME technical expertise in project risk management (PRM) for the project across an audience of internal and external stakeholders. Managing and maintaining resilient customer facing relationships and strategically maintaining trust of project leadership, the role requires an influential, confident people person with the ability to drive focus on PRM, lead through encouragement and connect PRM with key interfaces across the project scope.  

Major Responsibilities:

• Implement an effective and integrated risk management strategy: plan, processes, procedures, work instructions, etc. in line with client and international best practices and standards.
• Drive focus on actively managing risks.
• Maintain Risk and Opportunities statistics, monitor and report on major risks both at Project and Program level.
• Implementation of the Project Risk Mgmt. function across Projects.
• Facilitate Risk Workshops monthly across the project & program
• Deliver training in project risk management.
• Represent the project risk management program at project leadership meetings.
• Consolidate risks from Project level to Program level for overall review & reporting.
• Report Risk Metrics and graphical displays including dashboards to Project Management.
• Ability to work with limited supervision to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously under pressure.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Master’s degree in engineering, Construction or Management (preferred) Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, Construction or Management (minimum) Knowledge of International Risk Standards e.g. ISO31000, PMBok, and associated standards e.g. ISO 9001, ISO45001, ISO14000, etc.
• Experience in Qualitative Risk
• Ability to support and perform Quantitative Risk Management.
• Experience facilitating risk workshops, risk reviews/ sessions.
• Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in engineering and construction with minimum 5 years’ direct responsibility for management.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Excellent communication skills with multiple levels of Management Team player with ability to lead a multinational, multi-dimensional organization.

• Experience with the holistic approach of risk management on Portfolio and/or Program level.
• Experience and knowledge of all discipline’s risks during all Project stages from feasibility till handover e.g. procurement/contractual, QHSE, reputational Risks, etc. 
• Proficiency with industry-standard software for risk management/analysis programs such as SAFRAN and ARM
