Position Summary:

Responsible for assigned activities within the Engineering Project. Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to project engineering specifically in the area of Architectural Engineering. Makes decisions independently concerning problems on the project. As assigned, represents the Project Engineer on the project and with the client to resolve technical questions and as required to coordinate work. Reports directly to the Project Engineer. Supervises and provides technical direction to subordinate engineers, scientists, specialists, designers, and drafters as assigned. Maintains contacts with client representatives as directed, with suppliers, appropriate field personnel, Project Engineers, and Engineering disciplines to ensure the coordination of the work within the project or assignment and compliance with Bechtel/client requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable to the Project Enigneer for coordination of Engineering and Construction/Procurement activities, in accordance with the established technical quality standards, cost, and schedule.
  • Accountable to the Project Enigneer for the performance of select engineering tasks, in accordance with the established technical quality standards, cost, and schedule.
  • Accountable to the Project Enigneer for ensuring that facilities and systems are installed in accordance with the engineering specifications and requirements.
  • Coordinates with the designer of record and provides field support during construction.
  • Ensures design documents reflect as-built conditions.
  • Manages the specification of construction hold points and inspection requirements.
  • Coordinates resolution of field questions related to field change notices and design change notices.
  • Ensures Engineering Architectural tasks are completed within budget and ensures trends are processed for facility scope changes.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Level 1: B.S. in Architecture and 8 years related experience, with a minimum of 2 years experience/familiarity related to semiconductor/manufacturing facility.
  • Level 2: B.S. in Architecture and minimum 10 years related experience, with a minimum of 2 years experience/familiarity related to semiconductor/manufacturing facility.
  • Must have the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
  • Requires extensive technical knowledge of Architectural systems, methods and materials, applications of BIM software to Architectural design to ensure the design is cost effective, in accordance with applicable safety, health, environmental regulations, customer requirements and engineering/building codes and standards.
  • Must have working knowledge of Revit & Navisworks.
  • Must have working knowledge of Engineering/Architectural procedures, covering discipline deliverables, production and control, as well as organization and responsibilities for an EPC Project.
  • Thorough knowledge of business practices, project forecasting required.
  • Experience in resolving complex technical problems and the ability to articulate explanations, is essential.
  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication, planning and organizational skills are essential.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional registration in relevant engineering discipline.
  • Previous Bechtel experience.
  • Previous experience/knowledge on semiconductor manufacturing design process.
