Project Overview:

Bechtel is pursuing a significant new award of work in Egypt. The Project will cover the development of luxurious residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, tourism amenities, and economic zones. If successful, Bechtel’s contract for the delivery of this project will be for project management and construction management services.  This position is contingent upon project award, client approval and staffing plan changes. 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team and provide direction for a project on site security program. Under the supervision of the Senior Security Manager, you will develop and coordinate security concepts, plans, procedures, surveys, and audits. You will represent project security on a day-to-day basis to the client’s contractor partners, develop relationships with government agencies, and brief the Senior Project Leadership team on security issues and the implementation of security measures in the absence of the Project Senior Security Manager. Your work will ensure the success of the on-site security program.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides overall direction, coordination, and guidance for the security program on a project site or office with medium security risk.
  • Leads the development and implementation of security criteria, programs, and procedures in alignment with corporate and client requirements.
  • Provides functional guidance and oversight to assigned security personnel and contractors.
  • Monitors day-to-day security activities and evaluates the performance of contracted security services.
  • Develops, organizes, and directs the activities of on-site security staff, ensuring compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements, as well as corporate and client standards.
  • Implements appropriate security awareness and training programs for project personnel.
  • Represents the security department in meetings and consultations with client representatives, government agencies, and industry associations, as required.
  • Conducts investigations into incidents involving Bechtel personnel, property, or other interests if advised by Senior Security Manager
  • Briefs the Senior Project Leadership team on security issues and the implementation of mitigation measures, particularly in the absence of the Senior Security Manager.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with government and law enforcement agencies to support project security objectives.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13  years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience​

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Security Program Development & Implementation
    Ability to design and execute/follow security plans, procedures, audits, and surveys tailored to project needs.
    Experience working collaboratively with project leadership and other departments to integrate security into broader operational goals.
  • Regulatory & Legal Compliance
    Understanding of host country and international security regulations, including client-specific and corporate standards.
  • Technical Security Competence
    Familiarity with physical security systems (e.g., access control, surveillance technologies).
    Mid to advanced MS office/computer skills
  • Government & Client Liaison Experience
    Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and client stakeholders.
  • Leadership in Multi-Functional Teams
    Experience working collaboratively with project leadership and other departments to integrate security into broader operational goals.

    Fluent in English (reading and writing); Proficiency in Arabic especially for roles intended for local employees’ engagement.
